    TEAMSTERS, THE

    Sharp Suited S.O.A.G.

[engl] The Teamsters haven't released anything since September 2014, with the exception of a demo on a compilation tape released over in Chicago. Their line-up of drummers changed drastically over the last 18 months, with the likes of Bruce Brand stepping in before leaving in March of this year. That's not to say that the group haven't been recording and writing profusely, they never stop in fact. They declare that they enough for 2 LPs, but their refusal to compromise on the sound they strive for has left them re-recording and mixing dozens of tracks. Intent on making a truly great record. In the meantime they were happy enough to release a couple of tracks for a single on Bachelor Records. The songs are co written by the bands guitarist and bass player Tom and Dan, and we were happy enough to put them out. It marks a departure from their earlier ramshackle days as a trash punk outfit and into the finer details. 'Sharp Suited S.O.A.G' is a mocking portrayal on a man who focuses his life on clothes, where money is no object. The B side 'Why Do You Wanna Do That?' is your standard song of heartbreak, nothing much to elaborate on there, but its new and its exciting. This release is limited to 500 copies, housed in a cardboard disco sleeve (two holes). Artwork done by Tom H. Wing.

MISS CHAIN & THE BROKEN HEELS

Uh Uh / Standing The Night

[engl] It’s been quiet for some time for MISS CHAIN ND THE BROKEN HEELS, the extensive touring after their second album (The Dawn, released by Burger, Bachelor and Tre Accordi), band members went their own way to persue solo careers, starting a booking agency, buidling a studio, and just taking a breath, italian style. After few months things started to get together again, they did some shows in the spring of 2016 and baboom: Here is their new classic two song single, fresh and new, as if there hasnt been some kind of hiatus. You can easily hear it exactly 1 second after you let the needle drop on the Side A track, after few chords Miss Chain and the gang ooozes a warm feeling into your head and heart! Hell, they are back, with all the goodtime melodies enriched with their typical melancholy vibe. While the first track is a classic uptempo powerpop tune, the flipside presents a slower hipshaker, and although the velocity has been taken out this one is still a fine, mellow mood maker that leaves you hungry for more!

    SPACE RAFT

    Rubicon

[engl] The hallmark of a great band is its ability to progress, to change from record to record. Even a brilliant debut cannot sustain a group throughout their entire career. Thankfully for music fans, Space Raft has that ability in spades. Hints of the best of '60's and '70's rock are combined with the dynamism and immediacy of modern post-punk to produce an ever-shifting backdrop of melodic innovation that moves forward several leagues from their self-titled debut.Their new album "Rubicon" (out April 15 on Dusty Medical Records in the USA and Bachelor Records in Europe) takes the positive attributes of their self-titled debut and expands on every aspect of their sound; from pop-rock hooks (opener "Borrowed Time," standalone single "Paper Airplanes") to drifting melodies ("Vacation") to euphoric instrumental passages ("Disconnection Notice," "Red Arrow").This can be attributed in part to Space Raft's consistent membership; after working together for years Jordan Davis (guitar, vocals), TJay Christenson (keyboards), Jon Heibler (bass) and Tyler Chicorel (drums) have a second sense about what will and will not combine fluidly; this interplay is crucial to their multi-faceted sound. Also integral to their sound is the one-two punch of recording with Shane Hochstetler at Howl Street Studios in Milwaukee, and the mastering skills of Justin Perkins at Mystery Room Mastering.

    TRAUMAHELIKOPTER

    Look The Other Way

    [engl]
With a mutual love for rock ‘n’ roll music and a destructive perspective on daily life, it didn’t take long before Mark Lada and Daan van Dalen became BFF’s. After multiple bad break-ups, college debts and shitty call center jobs, the two took residence in an old warehouse building to write songs. Preferably during full moon. In the words of Maximum Rock ‘n Roll: “Fucking great.” In the words of Mark and Daan: “Fucking great.” After a while, the guys hooked up with Professional Againster Roel van Merlot, who turned out to be the ultimate addition to transform the band into an iconic trinity, based around drums, electric guitar and electric guitar. National newspapers concluded that “traumahelikopter has found the essence of rock ‘n’ roll.” Their record collections represent the entire rock ‘n’ roll history, covering obscure country, blues, R&B, beat, punk, wave, grunge, contemporary garage and whatnot. These guys know what’s up. With a devil-may-care-attitude the band played everywhere, and recorded their debut album in just one week. “This record is about pure hedonism, punk and broken teen spirits,” says Mark Lada. “And it’s the best stuff we recorded so far.” Their last full lenght has been released on LP and CD by Excelsior Recordings and on LP and cassette by Burger Records.

    YOLKS

Don’t Cry Anymore / I Wanna Be Dumb

[engl] Chicago's self-proclaimed, self-crowned, Kings of Awesome, THE YOLKS!!! ! Limited pressing of 600. Also out on Randy Records, USA. Brand new 7” from Chicago’s self proclaimed and self crowned Kings Of Awesome, THE YOLKS!!! Side B finds The Yolks treading familiar waters, producing another one of their trademark punk rock n roll jams with “I Wanna Be Dumb”, a song that celebrates the sheer joy of being stupid while lamenting the fact that intelligence works only one way. Unfortunately, one can only get smarter, not dumber, and once you’ve learned too much, it’s too late. SUCH IS LIFE. Side A, however, marks the continuation along a newer path for The Yolks. “Don’t Cry Anymore” is a lot less Ramones or Booker T and the MGs than much of their previous output, and a lot more Ethiopians, Clarendonians, and Everly Brothers, with brothers Nathan and Spencer Johnson singing those sweet, sweet harmonies whose gentle beauty will surely lift your spirits, and maybe, just maybe, might melt your cold, dead little heart. It’s a sound that not many bands are going for nowadays, and it is already making beautiful women swoon, tough guys choke back tears, and audiences across Chicago shower The Yolks with flowers, kisses, and admiration every time they play! With this single The Yolks show once again their ability to write songs in very different styles that nonetheless always sound cohesive, for in the end they never stray far from the immortal wellspring of pure, unadulterated rock ‘n’ roll. Buy this record and see for yourself that, indeed, The Yolks truly are THE KINGS OF AWESOME!!!

    SPIKE & THE SWEET SPOTS

    Strange Breed

    [engl]
DEBUT LP by Chicago's folk rock darlings, SPIKE AND THE SWEET SPOTS! Limited pressing of 300. Also out on Randy Records, USA. At a time when it seems that most rock n roll bands bury their vocals under a mountain of reverb, with the lyrics mostly unintelligible, and the voice treated as just another instrument, Spike and the Sweet Spots stand as a powerful counterpoint. They are a band for whom good songwriting and good lyrics are at the forefront. Above everything, Spencer “Spike” Johnson is a songwriter – a man who idolizes such lyrical heavyweights as Bob Dylan, Daniel Johnston, Lou Reed, or more recently The Dutchess and the Duke, Home Blitz, or Juan Wuaters. And with role models like those, you can rest assured that you will never hear a Sweet Spots song with cliché or rehashed lyrics. And on their debut album “Strange Breed”, every song is thoughtful, heartfelt, clever, and well executed. For the last ten years, Spike has played in Chicago’s favorite party rock band, The Yolks, and lent his pen to write many of their best songs. But at the same time was ripping it up with The Yolks, he was sometimes writing songs that did not match the high energy rock n roll songs in a typical Yolks set. And so he started his own group as a vehicle for these great songs he was writing that were too mellow for The Yolks, but too good to just let lay fallow.

    PEACH KELLI POP

    III

    [engl]
Peach Kelli Pop originated when Allie Hanlon, originally a drummer, decided to try writing and recording songs in Ottawa, Canada in 2009. Hanlon started out writing not for an audience but for herself. The intimate quality of her bedroom recordings have been maintained to this day. On first listen one will hear high-pitched harmonies and thick layers of trebly guitars but just below the surface lays an evocative darker side to the music that often goes unnoticed. Hanlon is known for her catchy and tongue-in-cheek songs inspired by video games, Chinese food and conspiracy theorists, illustrating not only her playfulness but also her wit and her angst. She also grapples with more serious topics like the pressures and challenges women face and the weight of love. Some songs feature the sounds and words of frustrated heartache and recognizable sorrows. Those that spend enough time with Hanlon’s music will grasp its depth –both musically and emotionally. Peach Kelli Pop plays with the type of urgency and immediacy that appeals to an audience with short attention spans. Hanlon fronts Peach Kelli Pop’s energetic live shows on guitar and vocals and is backed by an assembly of female musicians. The live band consists of an additional guitarist, a bassist, a keyboardist and percussionist and a drummer.

    DEAD GHOSTS

    Can't Get No

[engl] Dead Ghosts originally formed in late 2008 in the basement of Drew and Michael Wilky’s parent’s house in Vancouver, Canada with friend Bryan Nicol. Influenced by Pebbles comps and girl group records, they began writing and recording, addding bassist Maurizo Chiumento not long after. It didn’t take long for blogs and labels around the world to take notice, writing and praising about their songs uploaded to Myspace (yeah, those were the days...). In less than a year their first single “What To Do” was released on the Milk‘n‘Herpes imprint, the ball got rolling. After another single on Boom Chick we released the split single with Smith Westerns on Bachelor with fantastic artwork by C.M.Ruiz, this one sold out in a wink. More singles followed, leading up to their first full length put out on Florida’s Dying in 2011. The S/T LP, a mix of twang balladry soul stompers was a hit with the garage rock community from all over, which sold out and was repressed twice. They have toured the USA, Canada, and Europe with such acts as: King Khan & BBQ, Thee Oh Sees, and Nobunny to name a few. They boys feverishly worked on their second full length that was released by Burger Records in Spring of 2013 and sold out in no time. „Can‘t Get No“ made it to the top of many best of 2013 lists, sometimes even as „Album of the Year“. Bachelor Records is taking this fantastic album back in print, limited to 500 copies.

    SONIC CHICKEN 4

    s/t

    [engl]
After releasing a string of seven inches on NASTY PRODUCT, recieving glowing reviews in magazines, webzines and blogs across the globe, and playing dates in Europe and the USA, SONIC CHICKEN 4 inked a deal with one of the leading garage punk record labels, IN THE RED, to release their first full-length back in 2007. The album got raving reviews so the band decided to tour the USA in 2009. Then they did singles on ROBS HOUSE and TROUBLE IN MIND and recorded another full length that was supposed to come out in 2009 just in time for another US adventure, this one with appearances at Goner Fest 6 (Memphis) and Scion Fest (Portland). When this tour began, the album was postponed by the label. They went back to Europe to do another month of touring… and the album was postponed again... and until now it never came out. In 2010 the band slowly stopped its activity... stopped playing live and stopped practicing. Years later Dusty Medical Records (Milwaukee, MI) and Bachelor Records (Austria) rediscovered this „lost“ 12 song masterpiece, a garage punk gem from a looong forgotten time. Yes its true, only about 5 years ago this thing we call Garage Punk sounded a lot different! That was before this genre was washed down by hipsters, before it was cool to shake bums to primitive beats.

    MAKEOUTS

    Hjärndöd

[engl] We are very proud to present the MAKEOUTS first songs sung in swedish language, on a very limited 7" record housed in a brown paper sleeve. Soon after starting this wonderful enterprise called Bachelor Recording Co. the MAKEOUTS sent in a demo containing four harsh early 90s styled and lo-fi garage punk songs, and we instandly fell in love with these lads and did their debut 7" back in 2006. It's been nearly four years since we released the critically well acclaimed LP. They even won the swedish alternative music price in 2010. It was kinda surprising for us when they came up with the idea of doing a single in their motherlanguage, but when I listened to the recordings (we were sitting in a mexican restaurant and they were pushing earplugs into my direction...) I was blown away. Swedish is a good language for punk music! ASTA KASK! RADIOAKTIVA RÄKER! RUDE KIDS! Nuff said.... These two tunes here are straightforward and tight, but still have the certain MAKEOUTS charme. For those who dont unterstand what the MAKEOUTS are singing here, we included a inlay with the lyrics. In swedish. No subtitles. Limited to 200 copies!

    NEW SWEARS

    Junkfood forever, bedtime whatever

[engl] Best thing in Canada right now, and Canada’s full of brilliant bands these days. NEW SWEARS are back with their new album “Junkfood Forever, Bedtime Whenever” only about one year after the release of their debut album “Funny Isn’t Real” (Bachelor / Dirt Cult) which got raaaaving reviews all over the world. The sound of the first album was a bit crummy / lo-fi in some way, this has changed totally here, but still they ride the rollercoaster in the theme park called “Rock n Roll all night and party every day”... “New Swears are a joyful and wasted party... brimming with feel-good tambo shakers and guitar hooks. Surfy with punk hooks and smilyfaced vocals exploding with danger, fun, youth... these dudes crap out catchy riffs like golden eggs, everything is light, uptempo and catchy as shit!” (Jack Rabid, The Big Takeover) In four words, New Swears encapsulate their Poochie-esque core: Junkfood forever. Bedtime? Whatever! These four Ottawa dudes have written a genuinely fun record—handclaps and chugging, sunny riffs in tow—full of songs about smoking weed, drinking, having sex, and, generally speaking, not giving a shit and having a good time. Do they break shit? You better believe it. Do they care about the bullshit? No way. The record might be best exemplified by "Legalize Freedom", a deep-voiced, sketchy track about outrunning the cops and doing coke and sleeping with prostitutes. This sounds more like a low-budget exploitation film than a gritty account of real life, but like a lot of low-budget exploitation films, this thing is fun. (Pitchfork.com)

    s/t

[engl] UV GLAZE is a Berlin based fuck you, noise punk monster including members of HERPES, NOEM, JAILHOUSE FUCK and WOLFGANGS VACATION. Its hard to describe their sound and dynamics its just uncontrollable and loud, noise/gunk punk! Been a fan of 'em before they even existed! UV GLAZE is throwing us back to the mid 90ties when we all dug records of AMPHETAMINE REPTILE RECORDS. Loud, wylde and even fun sometimes! If you go crazy while listening to THE JESUS LIZARD, COWS, GUZZARD or BIG BLACK, or much more recent PISSED JEANS and METZ, this band and this 45 is definitely a sure shot! UV GLAZE: “ Fünfmal Rock´n´Roll mit Migrationshintergrund, live bei Smail in ein paar Stunden aufs Band geschändet. Mentalität: Mittelfinger. Hauptsache der Sound pumpt, normal.”

    BATMAN & GARAGEKID

I'm not a monkey but I like bananas too!

[engl] Batman had several singles with Robin, a legendary trilogy between madness and comedy, between Garagepunk and No-Fi. All of them are sold out and OOP, and of course collectors items. He didn't treat Robin nice. So Robin ran away. Their way parted, and Batman did some singles on his own. Lonely times are gone, he found a new partner in crime, none less than Garagekid himself. Thee kid also has some classic 45 releases under his belt. What a perfect match. Together they re-define no-budget rock. Limited to 500 copies, includes a insert, handnumbered.

    PARROTS, THE

    Loving you is hard

    [engl]
The Parrots is a fresh-from-college young garage-surf trio from Madrid, Spain that's causing a commotion in the garage-surf scene this year. Last year they self-released a demo EP; the video for the main track on this demo has already 32.000 views on YouTube and shows a band that knows how to have fun playing great must. Their first official recording was a 7" released in early 2014 via cult indie label from Madrid, Sonido Muchacho. The live video of one of the songs on this single (“Dee Dee Dangerous”), filmed on stage in Amsterdam's Red Light District (where they recorded it), got 50.000 views in just two weeks. Before the end of 2013 they recorded two more tracks with legendary Spanish producer Paco Loco (The Posies, Las Kellies, The Sadies, The Jayhawks, Steve Wynn...) for their second 7" to be released in August via Bachelor Records from Austria (sharing catalogue with such favourites as Black Lips, Dead Ghosts, Hunx, Smith Westerns...). Their fresh sound, reminding of American bands such as Black Lips or Strange Boys, got them invitations to perform at the main Spanish festivals. For the summer of 2014 they've already played FIB Benicassim, Low Festival, Vida, Mona Fest, Arenal, FRA and many others. The band was selected to perform in March 2014 at South By Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, where they played three unofficial day parties as well as the official festival showcase.

    AR-KAICS, THE

    s/t

[engl] Richmond, Virginia’s The Ar-Kaics play a nai?ve brand of punk music in the tradition of American Teen Beat and amateur garage circa 1965 – or '66, at the latest. Ask a band member, however, and they’re quick to describe the sound as "a wild ass ride." On this self-titled debut LP they’ve traversed the muck and climbed out of the ooze, to walk pointedly upright on their own eight feet. Like all the dilettante Stones and Jr. Beatles before them, hammering away on department store instruments in their parents’ garage, The Ar-Kaics are one with their inner troglodyte child (hear: BACK FROM THE GRAVE, PEBBLES, TEENAGE SHUTDOWN et al. comps), showcasing a wealth of irresistibly simple hooks, fuzzy strut and primal swagger. Lucky for you this sound is NOW!!!! After a slew of singles on labels like NORTON, MARKET SQUARE, STEADY SOUNDS, The Ar-Kaics offer us a proper album's worth of thirteen A-Side originals; snottier (“No, No, No”); lonelier (“This Time Tonight”); darker (“Be My Baby”); rawer (“Can’t Keep Waiting”) than any critic or casual listener could have forecast. Recorded remotely during a weekend in the woods at Rag’s BB&R by Jeff Kane, the band had little contact with the outside world (apart from beer runs to the nearest gas station and late night screenings of Major League and Grumpy Old Men). What you get is an album in the true sense, ranging from ragers to moody ballads and back again, without a snoozer in the bunch. R. K. Vondopolis Roanoke, VA

    MAKEOUTS

    Back To Sleep

    [engl]
Makeouts are a Stockholm, Sweden based Garage Punk band. From day one of their existence the had quite s following, and with their wild live shows and stage antics they established themselves in the garagerock scene. Their music is constantly evolving but they dont give a shit about the latest musical trend. Their first crude recordings back in 2005 had a early 90ties budget rock sound, they sent us a demo CD with four harsh and lo-fi tracks that simply hit the nail, just like the RIP-OFFS, SPASTICS or LOLI AND THE CHONES did, and those songs became one of our first 45s on Bachelor, catalog number BR-03. In 2010, with their debut album „In a strange land!“ (also released on Bachelor Records) they won the swedish independent music award, manifest for best swedish rock album of the year. By this time they already have been touring in England, Germany, Austria, Holland and Italy and played with bands like Jay Reatard, King Khan & BBQ Show, Dirtbombs, Eagles of Death Metal, New Bomb Turks, Hunx, Nobunny, Ty Segall,... Now, three years after the release of the critically well acclaimed debut album they are back with their opus magnum, „Back To Sleep“, a true masterpiece that will make waves and stand out of the tons of releases you get on your desk / dropbox each week.
