[engl] AOL released this full album and it’s definitely an… update… to the singular You’ve Got Mail song that was released towards the end of 2019. AOL out of Florida has some of the hardest, toughest, most down low and brutish riffs coming out right now. AOL is the palate cleanser for the entire swampy state. Sometimes you don’t want to be tuff. Sometimes you just need to nerd out on the internet with abrupt and angular guitar riffs while complaining about being an intern at the ole day job. If Android is the angry anti cyberpunk revolution on the frontlines, AOL is their nerdy tech assistance back at base. The songs are top notch and the recording is raw in all the right ways. What a time to be alive! Seriously, though, this tape is top-shelf stuff, so give it a whirl if it sounds like something you’d like to hear.

[engl] Karma Sutra were an anarcho pacifist band from Luton, Bedfordshire who formed in the early 80’s after the demise of the legendary the Phallic Symbols. Karma Sutra only had one release at the time - an album self released in 1987 called Daydreams of a Production Line Worker which came towards the end of their lifetime. Sealed Records now release the earlier years of demos and compilation tracks on a 15 track round up. Be Cruel with Your Past and all Who Seek to Keep you There includes their first and primitive demo The New Economy Roast from 1983. It’s very basic and has a Bullshit Detector Compilation quality to it. A few years later came the second demo Shoppers Paradise which is the best material Karma Sutra recorded. Six tracks of well produced classic 80’s Anarcho punk with a driving sound. It’s passionate, tuneful and politically aware. How this wasn’t released at the time on vinyl, is a travesty. Also included is two tracks from the Mortarhate Compilations Who? What? Why? When? Where? and We Don't Want Your Fucking Law!. Finally the last three tracks were from the final line up of the band and were recorded with Spon from UK Decay adding more post punk elements to the sound. The LP comes with a 40 page booklet of Lyrics, handouts, fanzine interviews and statements.

[engl] Bogota's ATAQUE ZERO return just over two years after their debut with their second 12" EP 'Ciudades'. They are an international band with members from Venezuela, Colombia and France who formed around the Rat Trap scene which gave the world MURO, TRAMPA and ALAMBRADA among others, all of whom share members with ATAQUE ZERO. They've stepped things up on all fronts for Ciudades and bring you five new anthems that have built on all the promises their debut EP made. The songs are passionate, angry and maybe even channelling a bit of STIFF LITTLE FINGERS as well as PELIGRO SOCIAL and LEATHERFACE this time too. Everything here is the right balance of taste and power and we can't wait to see what they come up with next.

This still rages with intensity and passion like the finest Husker Du, Moving Targets, Manifesto Jukebox or Leatherface records. The EP never lets up the pace and has hooks at every turn. [engl] Swedish punk veterans Attentat returns with the strongest, most composed album the band has made in modern times. The singer Jönsson's experiences from a supposed deathbed are heartbreaking to listen to. Songwriting partner Siken's harder influences combined with Jönsson's glam-scented Lennon/Slade compositions spice up the arrangement, but above all, the album is a ball of boisterous bubbly punk with catchy choruses and fist-in-the-air messages. Attentat sounds like Attentat more than ever.

[engl] Attentat were pioneers in the first Swedish punk wave in the late 1970s, along with bands like Kriminella Gitarrer, KSMB, Göteborg Sound and Ebba Grön. After more than 40 years on the Swedish rock scene, Attentat has never felt more relevant. With the new album ”Punkhjärta” (Punk Heart) producer Mattias Glavå (Dungen, The Amazing, Ice Age and others) has carved out a cleaner more raw sound but the fighting spirit, energy and sing along refrains remain. Attentat are still set on changing the future without forget- ting their past and in 2019 they are better, smarter, stronger and more fun than ever. They have nothing left to prove, but still do. The day our planet is flawless Attentat will quit. But that day seems far away.

[engl] Julian Isaacs aka Auntie Pus, made a bet with his childhood friend Chris Millar (Rat Scabies of The Damned) that one of them would have a top ten record within 3 years. He of course lost that bet in less than a year as The Damned took the world by storm. Isaacs carried on with his own brand of punk and Syd Barrett inspired songs, playing with the best of the first wave of UK punk bands, and becoming frequent tour partners of bands like The Damned and The Ruts. In 1978 he finally recorded a single, featuring Rat Scabies on drums, which was eventually released with some help from the Ruts management, and did make it, not just into the top 10 in Sounds, but "Single of the Week", and top 10 in Record Mirror when the Damned were pulling the reigns that week. Since then, the single has become a staple of conversations covering under the radar 70s UK DIY punk and "messthetics" type singles. This 7" is a deluxe edition with an unreleased track, artwork faithful to the original, with an accompanying insert that includes an in depth interview which should be fascinating to any fan of 70s UK punk, or fans of the Damned, plus photos, and more.

[engl] It’s been quite some time since the world last heard from Ausmuteants, they’ve been busy with more important things in life but the band is back with their silliest output yet. Ausmuteants are proud to present The World In Handcuffs, out April 26th this year on Anti Fade Records. Differing to previous Ausmuteants records, The World In Handcuffs was written (and narrated) entirely by guitarist Shaun Connor, as a concept album that explores a piss-take look on life from the perspective of a police officer. “Shaun joined this band cause he's into punk for some dumb reason that I don't understand. They've gone on all sorts of time-consuming tours, and Shaun just comes back broke and useless. They're always playing these loud shows that make sure Shaun is taken away from me for the night. We were walking around in Berlin once on holiday after tour, when Shaun and I were meant to enjoy some quality vacation time together. Some dude hit him up like "Hey man, do you play in Ausmuteants?" which was so embarassing. Ugh. Shaun looked pleased with himself, the worm. I'm pretty sure their most popular song is about jacking off, which probably tells you all you need to know about these idiots.” – Dom, the love of Shaun’s life. The record is split up into two sides that both include the exact same ten songs in different running orders – however, the A side features skits by Shaun in between songs and the B side doesn’t. So there’s a side for all occasions.
