[engl] LEGACY is a split album which includes songs of two bands, DERAIL and VERIDA, from Hamburg, Germany. Most of the songs were previously unreleased, except one of each band. DAY OF THE IDIOT by DERAIL was first released in 2001, on the compilation: “Hamburger Oberschule – Schmuddelkinder + andere Verbrecher wissen um die Antwort!” on Vince Lombardy Highschool Records. CHANGING SIDES by VERIDA came out on: “Hansepunx Hamburg 06” in 2006, a compilation by Klartext Records. In general the album contains songs from the active phases of each band. DERAIL 1997-1998 and VERIDA 2003-2004. All songs on LEGACY were remastered and released in April 2023. The album is limited on 100 copies, only on vinyl. The music by DERAIL is Melodic Hardcore / Punk Rock / Emo, that should please fans of Misfits and Samiam, The band comprises members of SISSIES, ANA and RAZZIA. VERIDA playing Punk Rock / Post Punk / Alternative Rock, that reminds of the Spanish band Dover in a way. Not least because of the female singer. [engl] Recorded over the course of three Autumn nights on the west coast of Sweden at the end of a tour in 2018, Fletcher Tucker’s Unlit T rail is a record of ritual, and an invitation to enter a ritual domain. Composed in the wake of Tucker’s intricately arranged LP Cold S pring, Unlit T rail decomposes and subsumes several songs and sonic elements from that previous work – offering them resurrection in a minimalistic and Plutonian habitat. An uncanny territory populated by trembling leaves, breathing organs, and the animate hooting, scraping, and buzzing of archaic flutes, tuned bowls, and droning strings. Unlit T rail is a single, continuous, long-form piece, containing seven movements split over two record sides. Crafted initially for solo, multi-instrumental live performances, an atmosphere of intimacy and immediacy permeates these woodland cabin recordings. The album opens with the sound of branches burning in the hearth, and Tucker warming his hands to play. Rattling leaves signal the beginning of an earthen ceremony. Sustained organ notes unfurl, swell, and drift through the room – carrying us into a liminal state, beyond ordinary awareness, and onto the unlit trail.

[engl] Ghost Bag is the recording alias of Nick Jongen. Born in the Netherlands in 1991 & currently residing in Berlin, Germany. This is his second release under the moniker Ghost Bag. Palindrome? was written and recorded in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil during an artist residency at Goethe Institute in January and February of 2019. Following up on Jongen’s 2018 debut under the Ghost Bag moniker, ?Ghost Bag & Tine Fetz? - an audiovisual collaboration with illustrator Tine Fetz - ?Palindrome? is undoubtedly a solo effort. On this self-recorded documentation of his travels, Jongen reflects on the past, present, and worries about his future. Summoning rippling clouds of guitar textures punctuated by intricate finger-picking figures set the backdrop to his ethereal vocals, while synths rumble like a volcano in the distance. Despite the option to use an in-house theatre space, this record was made almost entirely in the bedroom with just two mics and a small synthesizer brought from home, plus a worn out acoustic guitar purchased on site. Most days of his two-month stay were spent writing routinely, feeding monkeys from the kitchen window during breaks. On the song ?Lion?, a cellphone recording of Jongen lamenting on the beach at night plays in the background. Flirting with dreams of redemption, fatalistic sentiments echo throughout. Jongen is able to catch a glimpse of the outside world, while the door remains locked. A cynic might say this record is a testament of personal alienation made under trade-wind tropical rainforest weather conditions. In his own words... “M?aking this record was existential, painful, and existentially painful. Upon returning to Europe it went on to haunt me for over a year. Now, I’ve seemingly come to terms with it, making it available to everyone that’s willing to listen.?” Enjoy ?Palindrome?: recorded in a bedroom with the curtains drawn on the other side of the world.

[engl] With Jesus Lizard rhythms over melodies that channel early Sonic Youths’ more aggressive atmospheres, Chicago-based Heavy Seas makes its debut this summer. Everything Breaks marks the first ten songs from singer/guitarist Jeff Dean (All Eyes West, Dead Ending, The Bomb), drummer Ronnie DiCola (All Eyes West, The Arrivals) and bassist Katie Karpowicz (Airstream Futures). Everything Breaks was recorded with J. Robbins (Jawbox, Government Issue) at Robbins’ Magpie Cage Recording Studio in Baltimore. Robbins and co-producer Rodrigo Palma (Saves The Day) channeled the raw talent and energy of a newly formed band into a release that’s as controlled as it is catchy. Jay Robbins had this to say about the band: “The music and the energy in all of Jeff Dean’s bands has always been great, but there’s something about the chemistry between the players in Heavy Seas that makes it extra-special,” Robbins shares. “Katie’s bass melodies, Ronnie’s incredible drumming pushing everything forward, and last but not least the fact that, after so many years as a guitarist with a distinctive sound and energy, Jeff has taken this big leap to become the singer as well. Maybe for that reason it feels like his most personal project. The record (as usual with Jeff's bands) was a lot of fun to make, but as a friend I’m also proud of Jeff for putting himself on the line in this way, and it’s awesome to see the real friendships at the core of this band, as Katie and Ronnie really got behind him to make it possible.”
