[engl] After years in the warehouse we got the complete pressing from the never released triple 7" from vicious Australian head-grinders NAILED DOWN. Sixteen studio-recorded tracks of ultra-barbaric hardcore destruction. Previous releases on Profane Existence (Far East), Six Weeks, Spiral Objective, Homegrown, Power It Up, and more. The artwork is complete different to the CD release on First blood Family Records years ago. Nailed Down from down under have been going for quite some time now, and this is their newest release. They lay down the law with some absolutely unrelenting and pummeling hardcore, taking heavy influences from early '80s US hardcore, particularly Boston. In fact, they cover Negative FX's "Nuclear Fear". Although Nailed Down takes strong influences from early '80s Boston hardcore, it's not exactly in that style. The catchiness and hooks of those bands are substituted with blasting brutality, sort of like the way in which Infest was influenced by Boston hardcore. The noticeable exception being track 13, "You Tell Me" which is the catchiest song on the album. Either way, a really good album all around, and a good place to start if you are looking to check these guys out.(ripping thrash fanzine)

[engl] It seems like grind bands are a dime a dozen these day, and a lot of them sound alike or are just plain mediocre. Out of all the grindcore bands that I've heard lately, Nashgul definitely stands out as one that isn't afraid to stray from the stereotypical barrage of blasts beats and unintelligible guitar. This is one of those albums that you put on and all your friends say "whoa, who the fuck is this?" There is an obvious death metal influence here. The vocals range from piercing high screeches, to low Mesrine-esque growls, along with layered and call and answer dual vocal sections. What I think really separates these guys from other grind bands is the guitar: it isn't an onslaught of noise oriented chords structured in a "fit as many notes as possible into a 30 second song." There is a noticeable melody and structure to Nashgul's songs, which gives them an appeal to lovers of grind and death metal across the board. This lets you hear the progression of Nashgul's sound without having to keep switching records. If you like death metal and you like grind, buy this album and get blown away. 19 tracks, combining the best elements of Nasum,old Carcass, Terrorizer and Looking For An Answer. One of the best grindcore bands out there right now... By the way, the bands is on tour in september, so check it out.

[engl] Since we last heard from Washington's favorite punker party wreckers, they've have undergone a personnel change and quietly released a couple of limited cassettes but, most importantly, they have finally solidified themselves as a focused force of destruction hell bent on destroying any preconceived notions of what "hardcore" is supposed to be. Rest assured the deep disdain and power are still present but they've zeroed in on a path and stomp boldly forward. They've turned up the noise and the confusion a notch or 5 too without sacrificing any of the rage either. Damn, this one is mean. Life is mean. Life is NASTI.

[engl] Nasti, the people’s favorite, is back with their third album of misanthropic hardcore punk. Sure to delight the senses of the senseless with thudding violence and irritated vitriol. It is the band’s opinion that humans are mostly garbage and this record reflects that sentiment wholeheartedly. “People Problem” is musical equivalent of Jack Nicholson in The Shining methodically/maniacally typing: I don’t like you. I don’t like you. I don’t like you.

[engl] "Finally! At long last we get a new sign of life from Oslo's ""NEGATIV"" straight from the dark vaults of Norways riot city number one! Eight new stompers that mix the anarchic chaos and rage of 1982' UK hardcore punk with the fury and raw spirit of japanese punk. All this boosted up with norwegian guitar virtuosity (…or was it madness?), stomping drums and vocal chords lubricated with gasoline and razorblades.

[engl] OBSESSIÓ’s debut is a blast of crude hardcore. Formed during the extremely dark times of August of 2018 and based between Athens and Barcelona the band first statement is an 8 track 12” at 45 rpm which knocks you down with the first chord. Kindly indebted to the living legacy of TOTALITÄR, CRUDITY and other Nordic Beat greats while keeping an unmistakably modern swagger. Breakneck pace and musical manufacture care of three Greeks who have set the stage for Angela’s no doubt bleak summary of the world, whose distinctively intimidating and minimal powerhouse voice crashes across OBSESSIÓ’s music. No songs over 2 minutes, no frills or tricks, no contemplative pondering on delicate matters, and most of all no fucking melody.

[engl] Hurtling out of Lesser Poland full of indignant rage and armed with defiant conviction come Lublin’s OHYDA with a third LP that puts Kaczy?ski and his PiS cronies to shame. The legacy of Polish forefathers DEZERTER lurks behind razor-sharp riffs and tightly-wound drums, but this record is no mere exercise in homage paying. Where other efforts may hide behind prescriptive cacophony, OHYDA leap out from the dark with a sound that is both cleaner and more considered while somehow remaining belligerently heavy and grotesque. Such is the catchiness that loiters beneath the swell of this tortured LP you might even pick up glimmers of TZN XENNA’s 1985 7” Dzieci z Brudnej Ulicy. Right-wing populists and pro-lifers are amongst the victims who are dressed down with both fury and absurdity. There’s also an entire tune that goes after Kaja Godek, which deserves a round of applause in itself. The band’s best work to date. (Christopher Dodd)

[engl] Debut release from Lublin’s OHYDA. Distorted dark hardcore which channels the spirit of the classic Polish hardcore punk of DEZERTER or TRAGIEDIA (who they cover on the B side), mixes it with modern Barcelona bands ala DESTINO FINAL and incorporates quasi industrial beats a la CRESS with a hint of psychedelia creating a hybrid that is a monster on its own. Seven tracks in nearly 16 filled minutes which keeps us hoping for more soon.

[engl] When Sydney's Oily Boys dropped their long awaited debut LP on Cool Death over the summer we were caught unawares, and quickly fell in love with it. Static Shock is now very pleased to be releasing this across the pond for the uninitiated. Here's what the Cool Death originally said about this record, as we couldn't agree more: "Chthonic, catatonic, chronic... Cro Memory Grin is a masterpiece. Thirteen turbocharged tracks indebted to the pleasures and pitfalls of their lives in the modern city of Sydney and to the the first and second waves of international extreme music freaks and loonies: pure fucking aggression. The Oily Boys have graced us with a beast of an album that swells between direct, gripping, tangible hardcore punk and near nauseating psychedelia and throb which at moments feels like either ritual trance or a nervous breakdown. Cro Memory Grin contains near equal measures of tension and release; an exercise in high catharsis. It’s rare that a punk record can give the listener anywhere near the same intoxicating feel of an “everything louder than everything else” live show, but that’s what Oily Boys have done. That lightning in a bottle feeling of excitement, chaotic energy, delirium, presence in a moment and frenzied flight into a mind state both frightening and ecstatic. [engl] Sad to say but this is their farewell record after an excellent Lp & a succesful tour with Detestation & Cress. 8 songs of angry, pissed off political HC with female / male vocals. Even a bit faster and more tight than their already excellent Lp. Lyrix are kind of indebt analysis of punk politics that remind me lot of Conflict & the likes. Very inspiring stuff - comes with Lp size booklet with translations + comments & a nice poster.

[engl] Second album from post metal punks from Poland voices their yearning for what humanity has lost and forgotten along the way. The roots. It is a journey back to pre-civilisation era where trust was humanity’s only currency and butterflies never died… “Saudade” comprises of 6 moody tracks that will take you around the world with tribal peoples from America, Kongo, Brazil and Australia. Expect acoustic instruments, raw and brutal sound as well as melancholic guitars and tribal drums. It’s getting more romantic…
