[engl] Long overdue vinyl reissue of the last album from Mugstar, cut /pressed in Germany onto hi quality Audiophile 150gm vinyl, 1000 only being pressed: Mugstar are an instrumental rock band from Liverpool, England influenced by krautrock, 'saucerful...' era Pink Floyd, Neu!, Sonic Youth and Oneida. They have released a number of 7" records including a recent split with Mudhoney and were one of the last bands to have recorded a 'Peel Session' for John Peel. Mugstar maintain a power and heaviness and extending their musical manoeuvres and textures into new territories, the mantra-like effect driven with restraint, atmospheric shifts and verges on enlightenment and dark uneasiness. Mugstar are a total sonic assault on the senses, live shows are filled with black and white images flashed over the stages they play.

[engl] Remixes were mentioned when Agitated asked to reissue the Mugstar LP "Lime", we asked about, we got some good response! this 2 Track EP / 1 track CDEP release features the remix work of Robert Hampson (Loop / Main), he has transformed Serra into some 39 minute planeshifting kosmische epic. The first 19 or so minutes (side One on the vinyl) pulse with some fizzing electrical energies that evoke obscurio Kraut rock demo tapes from the mid 70s, the sail by, and then the second part (side Two on the vinyl) the beats, the rhythms they subside into some early (early!) Tangerine Dream-esque ambient but not ambient soundscapes, wholly immersive, wholly essential. Both "sides" combined as the whole "piece" on the CD version. The vinyl cut is deep, the pressing is in germany (natch), and will be on clear green vinyl in a clear plastic bag, limited to 800 copies for sale only.

They’re a riveting combination of Grand Funk meets Lynyrd Skynyrd, combined with the sensibilities and smart lyrics of The Doobie Brothers, along with the swagger of Neil Young & Crazy Horse..." – Jenell Kessler National Flag formed in Kingston in 1973 and they were a big noise for brief period around London in 1975/76. They quickly developed a strong following especially at the Marquee club where they were resident band in summer 1975. Such was their live reputation they were invited to Tokyo and toured Japan in summer 1975 appearing on TV & Radio, headlining the infant Fuji Rock Festival & opening the World Rock Festival in Kyoto with the New York Dolls & Jeff Beck. "Thank You & Goodnight" was recorded between 1974/76 at EMI Manchester Square, Decca Hampstead with Nick Tauber (Thin Lizzy) & Fulhams Milner Sound with a soon to be famous Julien Mendlesohn (Elton John, McCartney). Aprox. 100 copies were pressed as a homemade edition in 1977 and the album became a myth. Its reputation and rarity value has grown over the years and is now sought after by keen rock fans, Marquee fans and 70s record collectors AND its actually a real gem...Glorious. That same year, band members Danny Edwardson and Seamus Sell were also responsible for the KPM library album "Rock On", for which they used and recycled some riffs of National Flag songs. National Flag should have been huge, but somehow they escaped a record deal, the anecdotes are endless but times were changing, the punk wave swept in and the band broke up playing their last gig in June 1977. Here’s the first ever vinyl reissue of their only album.

Progressive / psychedelic sound dominated by Hammond organ / guitar with cool jazz- funk and rare- groove touches, including the mod- club classic ?P.M.?, the superb instrumental ?Funky Hoe? and a top cover of Frank Zappas ?Peaches en Regalia? among others. This 500 limited reissue includes one bonus track, ?Love Love Love Love Love?, a terrific mod- psych number taken from a non- album 45. [engl] Cool late ’60s US Pepperish psychedelia with inventive arrangements, fuzz guitars, studio effects...Recorded in 1967–68 but shelved at the time. Famous for their "Psychedelic Illusion" 45, US garage–psych band ONE OF HOURS formed in Lexington, KY, in 1966. After adding guitar player Bob Willcutt to their line–up, they released their second 45, "Feel the Pain" / "Psychedelic Illusion", in 1967. Work then began on an album of a complete but varied musical experience called "When You Hear the Music, It’s Yours". Fuelled by the creative force of band member Shawn Foreman (a true visionary who would create the cult electro / disco project Transistor–Jet in the 80s), the group (now called Dandelion Wine) entered Chetwyd Studios where they, in true psychedelic mode, experimented and used unusual techniques like backwards recording, paper under piano strings, singing through a comb, interconnecting Fuzz boxes, etc. The finished master tape containing 12 songs with titles like "Two Heads For 25 Cents", "Sweet Dragonfly" or "Incense C–19X" was sent to the Liberty label with the promise of an album contract for 1968...but the deal never came through and the master tape was destroyed in a warehouse fire. Luckily, Bob Willcutt kept a first generation copy of the master with perfect sound which we present here in a deluxe vinyl edition, housed in a silver mirrored die–cut sleeve.

[engl] Behind this obscure and mysterious British late- sixties psych record, we find the team of producers Brian Carroll and Damon Lyon- Shaw, famous for their involvement with mod- psych bands like Factory and Five Day Rain. During the late sixties, they also recorded some tracks of their own at the legendary IBC studios and produced a bunch of underground groups for their Homegrown company. Basically, instead of a real group, One Way Ticket was in fact a mixture of various recordings from bands that Carroll and Lyon- Shaw had been involved with producing through Homegrown during 1968, along with some recordings of their own. For some strange reason, all of these recordings surfaced many years later, when they were gathered and released as a budget pressing album, featuring a mysterious cover art and made- up liner notes & credits, under the One Way Ticket name on the President label in 1978. Musically, its an odd album which ranges from late- sixties underground psych in the Chocolate Soup vein to freaky blues- psych not unlike Olivers Standing Stone? with some glam- mod- psych and rockin? tunes. It even features three tracks also covered by the legendary Five Day Rain on their rare album. Reissued with original artwork and remastered sound.

[engl] Canadian rarity from 1968, recorded under the influence of hallucinogenic substances by a bunch on underground musicians: Michel Pagliaro, Tony Roman, Denis Lepage and Andy Shorter. The album consists of just one long freak- out jam divided in two sides: raw basement sound, acid guitar, stoned vocals, keyboards and loud drums, similar to early Soft Machine, Pink Floyd at their most free- form phase or Can.

[engl] Pigmy is the solo project of Vicente Maciá, founding member of 90s Spanish psych band Carrots. Highly influenced by late 60s / early 70s UK psych, folk–rock and baroque pop (think Magna Carta, Fairfield Parlour, Pete Dello, Duncan Browne, Cat Stevens, Amazing Blondel...) as well as Spanish 70s folk–pop / SSW (Solera, José y Manuel, Vainica Doble...), Pigmy surprised everyone with his previous two albums, "Miniaturas" and "Hamsterdam", which are now cult items between psych–folk fans. After a long period of songwriting and recording, Pigmy returns with "Manifestación", his long–awaited third album. And the result is stunning. Magical, out–of time psychedelic folk–pop, in the same vein of "Hamsterdam" but this time incorporating medieval / renaissance instruments (lute, recorder...), giving "Manifestación" a very unique feel. A Latin poem opens the album , followed by the medieval sounding "Almendros en Flor" with great use of flute. "Manifestación", inspired by the "Rosarium Philosophorum" alchemy book from 1550, features the two main ingredients from the new Pigmy sound: psychedelia and renaissance music. We hear echoes of the first Duncan Browne on "El Hombre Menguante". Medieval atmosphere a la Magna Carta on "Incienso y Bengala", featuring trumpets and flugelhorn: "White magic from your lute, it sounds a strange equation".

[engl] 33 minutes of pure, unadulterated, psychedelic Krautrock courtesy of PYRAMID: an obscure studio project produced by Toby Robinson aka The Mad Twiddler. These sessions were recorded circa 1975–76 in Cologne for the underground Pyramid label, which was operated by Toby and his friend Robin Page (the Fluxus artist). During that time, Toby worked as engineer and assistan at varios studios in Cologne, including the famous Dieter Dierks studios, where most of the albums from the Ohr/Pilz/Cosmic Courier catalogue were registered. Having access to the studios during dead hours, Toby recorded lot of sessions just for fun without any commercial interest, featuring friends and musicians who frequented the studios and the underground art/music scene of Cologne. Some of these sessions were later relesed as hand–made vinyl micro pressings on his Pyramid label with help from artist Robin Page.
