Their name hints at a contradiction that can be heard in their sound as the recordings are stripped of all technological advances, using beaten analogue gear and minimal microphone setups to record live to tape. If Satan had a pool party, The Future Primitives would be playing loudly in the background while everyone dropped acid and danced like it was 1969. [engl] In The Shade of the Purple Sun is exactly the sort of fairytale concoction you'd expect to emerge from the same minds as that introduction, with its attractively lurid sleeve hinting further at the delights within, with little in the way of subtlety, but plenty of finesse. The Karovas Milkshake aren't new to this game - their debut E.P was released in 2010 - and their experience shows with this fine release. It's one for the revivalists who savour vintage production techniques, over new innovations, and approached from this angle, there's plenty to savour here. An obvious love for vintage U.K psychedelia of the mid to late sixties is used as a starting point, with many other period appropriate appropriations helping to diversify "In The Shade of the Purple Sun" beyond the ambitions of many like-minded artists. "Purple Sun of Glastonbury" is probably the most overtly psychedelic track here, and almost certainly the best. Led by a Brian Jones worthy sitar riff, and a tribal vocal chant, it exerts a hypnotic charm that could last all day as far as I'm concerned. The backwards guitar section in the middle is an expertly manipulated, "Revolver"esque treat, and the catchy 'ba ba ba' pop outro digs its hooks in irresistibly. So much has happened on the journey from point a to b that it's hard to believe we're still listening to the same song. The highest recommendation I can give is that picking that particular highlight was not an easy task. There's much more to love here, from the bluesy "Howl" (check out the Robbie Krieger guitars!), to the flawless freakbeat of "When The Night Falls", to the sublimely ridiculous, Syd Barret-on-speed "Apple Pie".

[engl] The La De Das were a leading New Zealand rock band of the 1960s and early 1970s. Formed in New Zealand in 1963 (as The Mergers), they enjoyed considerable success in both New Zealand and Australia until their split in 1975. Here their first LP, a long time awaited reissue, this is maybe one of the best R&B/ Garage records out of New Zealand and Australia during the 60s. Tunes like '' How Is The Air Up There'' or '' On Top Of The World'' are among the best in the genre. Its a masterpiece from 1966, for every rock, garage or mod fans around the globe, this is the best you can get. Has two bonus tracks!!!

[engl] Born in 2002, LOS MUSTAN 66 came from MÉXICO city, formed by veterans from the garage scene of South America, Teresa Farfisa ex-LAS ULTRASONICAS, a girl only wild garage combo and Carlos P., that played Bass on the legendary band LOS SICOTICOS. They start to play covers of bands like THE SONICS and THE WAILLERS. They invited Sabu (LOS EXPLOSIVOS) to join them on the Vox Phantom guitar and they put here, in this LP 12 of the best tracks that they recorded to this release, the original tracks sunged in Spanish are really the best of this record, like "Infierno" or "Fuzz On" , but covers like "Writing on the Wall" (Five Canadians) or "Lean On Me" (Lord of Altamond) gonna put your head turning for a while. Along with LOS EXPLOSIVOS, LOS MUSTANG 66 are the wildest and heaviest combo in México. They are obviously influenced by 80's/90's bands like Lords of Altamond, Cynics, Fuzztones or The A-Bones or even the CRAMPS, but they also have a personality that emerge here after 5 years of stage perfomances.

The band came together in early March 2013, from the ashes of La Mancha Negra, Mother & Son & Glitter Canyon. The foursome play garage punk, inspired from the likes of The Standells, Los Saicos & The Sonics. To create a sound that is uniquely their own. [engl] For the first time reissued, with the great contribution of Miguel de Deus's family in São Paulo, that suplied the amazing collection of photos for the 4 pages inner, inside the LP. This limited edition is a highly collectable for fans of brazilian soul, groove and psychedelia. It's our contribution to pay respect to one of the most important brazilian musicians of the late 60's and early 70's. Main brain of bands like OS BRAZÕES and ASSIM ASSADO, he let us a amazing legacy for new generations. This is a small, but more than deserved homage to him, finally. Miguel de Deus was the protagonist of this amazing Afro-Funk movement, together with a group of “heavy” musicians, as they were called in those days of consolidation of a strong Black Power scene, mainly composed of black youth from the outskirts of the suburbs of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, where the movement took the name of Black Rio. [engl] Never reissued before in the original 45 rpm version, this two tracks are taken from the original master tapes of the band. The Modds, a Poplar Bluff, Missouri based band, cut a record in 1966 that has become a thing of legend, the ultra raw garage punk track, LEAVE MY HOUSE. The original 45 on ANR (American National Records) is a sought after rarity with some copies fetching as much as $1500. One peculiar thing about the original record is how up-front the guitar and vocals are in the mix. But the tapes reveals a layer hidden in the 45 version, where a second fuzz guitar, bass, and drums are now a part of the maelstrom! And you can have it here in this beautiful Groovie Records 7" with a real cool and original picture of the band in the front cover.
