[engl] Since we last heard from Washington's favorite punker party wreckers, they've have undergone a personnel change and quietly released a couple of limited cassettes but, most importantly, they have finally solidified themselves as a focused force of destruction hell bent on destroying any preconceived notions of what "hardcore" is supposed to be. Rest assured the deep disdain and power are still present but they've zeroed in on a path and stomp boldly forward. They've turned up the noise and the confusion a notch or 5 too without sacrificing any of the rage either. Damn, this one is mean. Life is mean. Life is NASTI.

[engl] Neon again ? Yes, Neon again, this time as an american press "licence press" co-released with Water Wing Records. Thick cardboard Pocket Sleeve with different Artwork and different innersleeve. Info : We, Astrid Spirig (vocals/later LILIPUT), Dagmar Heinrich (guitar), Loredana Zandonella (bass), and Gitta Gsell (drums), met in May 1978 in Zurich and formed NEON. None of us had ever played an instrument before! But, we were all animated by the spontaneous, creative, and rebellious spirit of Punk... Then, in December, a performance on Swiss television took place for a program about "women in show business." The TV appearance did not make us happy at all. The recordings for our songs were done in a music studio and we had to fight hard for them. In 2016, Dagmar found an old cassette at her home with the recordings of the two songs "Neon" and "Nazi Schatzi." We are especially keen about NEON being released on Water Wing Records - this nearly 40 years afterwards and then also on vinyl!

[engl] Introducing 'Waxing Moon,' the debut release from Berlin neo-nihilists, Noj. Waxing Moon takes the listener on a tense trip, pulsating through 9 chunky tweaked out tracks of industrial post punk whose combo of punishing percussion, antagonistic basslines, broken glass guitar and cool, bloodless vocals conjure visions of a cyberpunk version of The Birthday Party with Trent Reznor on synth, produced by a young Rob Zombie. An undeniably German swagger is present throughout, decorating a chilling Carpenter-esque sense of foreboding. Like sisyphus rolling the stone, each song gathers momentum as if it may build on a promise, keeping the listener in anticipation of some great crescendo or divine reason for being… before abruptly ending with the realisation that the journey was the anticipation, hopes dashed, collapsing new buildings.

[engl] What the hell is happening in Prague and Vienna these days? What combination of events transpired to create such a crackling musical euphoroia? It’s near impossible to put a finger on exactly what PITVA sounds like but it lands somewhere between militaristic Eastern Bloc post punk with brittle early black metal production and Einstürzende Neubauten’s approach to “music” with all the appropriate banging and noisewash. Add in a couple Peter Murphy style howls and you’re starting to get there. Maybe… All that is happening and this beast still drives like a hardcore punk record. Makes sense since this is people from Heavy Metal, Rosa Nebel, Privat, Sick Horse, Parasite Dreams, Smute?ní Slavnost, Bobby Would etc. Do not sleep on this! ( Jensen Ward / Iron Lung Records )

[engl] Flailing hardcore punk from Italy filled with lightning fast riffing, locomotive propulsion, all topped with tormented and blown out Nerorgasm(o)-ic vocals. Lying somewhere between a notion of what Wretched would have been trying to do on their second LP and what the lost secretly groove-laden EPs of early 80s Japan a la Bitousha were able to pull together, Psico Galera have made a very new splatter on an old canvas. Over the top guitar leads, slippery tempo shifts, and hints of melody amongst the tuneless torment allow this to hang together as a singular blast of modern punk perfection.

[engl] "In August 1979, Another Swiss label released Sperma's second record, a 12 ", with these three songs; Pigs (Schmier), No More Love (from the first recording session) and Radio. On Pigs they demand the death to everybody in a blue uniform. The amazing thing is that this song is never the fell victim to state censorship. One has to assume that they never heard the song to this day. At No More Love, the farewell of the "Peace & Love" generation is resolutely demanded and on the song Radio the Swiss radio is attacked. Here is the new edition with an informative, 20-page booklet in an edition of 200 copies in black vinyl. On Friday April 23rd, 42 years after his first release, Static Age Musik from Berlin is releasing this 12" again for the first time."

Following up their pulverizing 2019 EP, URIN have turned up the mania, tweaked it out even further and afforded absolutely no room for silence whatsoever. After all SILENCE IS DEATH! [engl] After releasing a string of tapes with rotating personal of the industrial scene this reincarnation of the WALKING KORPSES offers a nearly classic orchestration with members whose bands and projects could fill easily two pages of this review. Only it wouldn‘t make you any smarter concerning the sound of the band. Alright mentioning DIÄTS drummer Christian Iffland might give you a hint, just because he‘s a damn good drummer. This is a throbbing post-punk/industrial massacre made by people who know how to butcher. The group around vocalist Jason Honea (SOCIAL UNREST BLABLA) can without hestitation be measured with FLIPPER, BUTTHOLE SURFERS, CHROME, THE BIRTHDAY PARTY and BRAINBOMBS. They sound catchy and plausible just before they put the drill against your head. Like a fat yellow zit, sickening and fascinating at the same time finally leaving you at ease and relieved after it popped with a bang. Highly recommend for anyone who‘s fond of any of the mentioned Bands above craving fresh fodder. ( KH Stille, OX Magazine )

[engl] The debut four track 7” from Yfory feels like an instant jewel in the crown of modern punk. Sounding like a classic unknown gem from the golden era of post-punk 79-83, it has style, humour and demands, with vocals delivered mostly in the Welsh language. When Yfory are locked in and in full repetition mode their stuttering and jagged instrumentation and half spoken-half sung vocals sound like Life Without Buildings mixed with Malaria, while their faster numbers recall Wire or Kleenex / Liliput with an edge. ‘Pwy Chwaer?’ (‘Whose Sister?) tells of a union struggle exposing fault lines of feminist hypocrisy, Ailgylchu’ is a song about taking out the recycling that name checks global oil, self-driving cars, and private islands, while longest track Baled Y Dolmen is a search for salvation at the motorway services and Wales’ many standing stones, paying deliberate homage to cult Welsh band Datblygu. Made up of friends from four countries who’ve been active across international punk (in Diät, Good Throb, Barcelona, Idiota Civilizato and many besides) this is a distinct project made in Berlin that will after a single listen become one of your new daily pleasures.
