"Once Again The Present Becomes The Past" started life as a concept record about Australia’s first and largest air raid, the 1942 Bombing Of Darwin. However, while grappling with this heavy subject-matter, something from Norm Macdonald’s book, of all places, stuck with Jake: "The Present Became Past Again". History is forever repeating itself. It continues to happen. It will happen again. As the record took shape, it was fleshed out with the help of his new reel-to-reel recorder, turning crust and hardcore influences into the dark and cold array of songs documented within. [engl] Back in 2010, Bog People were the band everyone was talking about. Speedy UK82 punk infused with heaps of chorus and fuzz with live shows that were psychotic and colorful fog machined melees. Word spread like wildfire. The demo was out and burning up every fuckin’ boombox in the country. And then a teaser split 7” came out that was just a couple tracks from the same demo session. People were frothing at the mouth for new recordings. And then, they vanished, back into the bog from whence they came. But not before tracking an LP. A doomed session that was deemed too “speedy” and therefore, abandoned. All kinds of rumors circulated: “Did they get abducted and mind erased?”, “Where is ‘the bog’ located and did they fall in?”, “Did they break up?”, “Did they get arrested?”…and we have been waiting ever since.

[engl] Rage fueled powerviolence/harDCore from the “ City of Magnificent Distances”. Since their 2018 inception, Brain Tourniquet has payed homage to the classic West Coast Power Violence legends like Man Is The Bastard, Crossed Out and Neanderthal while maintaining their own identity and consistently twisting the conventions of the genre to make something new and urgent and fucking skull crushing. ‘...An Expression In Pain’ takes that forward trajectory 10 steps further and absolutely decimates expectations. This band is truly a light in the darkness.

[engl] Back from the bowels of forced-shut-in sessions with their 2nd EP, BRAIN TOURNIQUET amplifies the frustration and bitterness of the all too familiar life pause that was 2020. Throwing a brick through an actual person. We could laugh at all the parts that fall out and wash down the gutter. Now take all that violence and put it to grinding distortion. [engl] "America's Little Brother" is back after a lengthy stay at the Deformatory for the Young and Well Adjusted. It's been a productive placement that has birthed the debut dozen dubbed "Welcome To Clarko". An arms wide invitation to the double mad anxious new wave/brainpunk world of smart-mouthed subversion, man-made aneurysms, knee-jerk antagonism and juvenile gambling addictions. [engl] Big as a pig and vicious as hell. The torturous maelstrom sounds of bone breaks and thuggish isolationism. Howling feedback underscores the massive swirling riffs and relentless battery of drums. Foul, tumultuous vocals made entirely of the final exhalations of humanity really send this opus to the apex. A perfect band. For those unfamiliar, CØNDITIØN are a raging south Californian corpse-beat unit more akin to the likes of BASTARD than DISCHARGE. Fucking heavy. What they have done is take a little more time with “My God…” since the previous tapes and 7” to expand on their sound and enrich the overall listening experience. A couple of these triumphant new epics are more than one minute in length so consider this their step up to Long Play maturity. Crawl Space has emerged from the basement and stepped into the daylight ready to stomp your ears out. This MLP is downright nasty.

[engl] These are questions CYBERPLASM asks of it’s listener on their newest release, “Autogenesis”. A record showcasing the techno/terrortronic backbone of the band in its full on pulsing etherial machine glory. Though still very much a punk band there are no guitars to be found on this recording. Rest assured there is, however, a heaping amount of discordant noise and dystopic political lyricism tripped out way beyond the psyche. A new realm of music is being created here, tucked somewhere in the void between 90s techno and the ultra fuzzed maniac punk of the 2050s, music so modern it’ll make your head spin right off your neck while your body writhes in complete underground rave ridden pleasures. As a bonus, the EP comes with two remixes of “Autogenesis” by the homies, HIDE and Silo 77. You need this like a sickie needs medicine. Get twisted.
