They don't ask much from their audience—just 24 minutes to transport you into a bizarre, sugar-laced underworld where the rapid-fire drum beat and chainsaw guitar reigns supreme. The 12 high energy tracks on “Punk Rock Addio” talk of war crimes, North Korean dictators and depression while simultaneously massaging the pleasure centers of your brain with a baseball bat. Expect a taught, downstrum-driven rollercoaster torn from the long-lost pages of Dee Dee's demented diary, all bolstered by a few fresh faces behind the sound board: producers Lorenzo Moretti (guitarist/songwriter for popular Italian rock band Giuda) and Danilo Silvestri. Harkening back to the band's best-selling 2006 album, “Go Down,” “Punk Rock Addio” finds fun while flirting with the dark. It's a welcome sentiment.
