[engl] Subdued unleash their crushing debut album and not a moment too soon. In these dark and bleak days of 2020 they deliver a perfect album of classic anarcho punk with gothic tinges. impassioned vocals, raging guitar work that ranges from straight ahead to every so tinted flanged sounds mix with a locked in, energetic and relentless rhythm section. Their are moments of quiet and calm, spoken word vocals and metallic edges that just add to the tension and intensity. if someone told you that this was released in 1986 on Mortarhate, you wouldn’t be surprised. This album, along with Bad Breeding are setting the bar for a new golden age of anarcho punk in the UK. This album deserves a place in your collection next to Icons Of Filth, Anti Sect, Vex and Exit Stance.

[engl] The Supersuckers had a string of great cow punk albums to their credit and had managed to keep their line up intact by 1999's 'The Evil Powers Of Rock 'N' Roll'. Their original drummer Dancing Eagle (Dan Seigle) lived in Austin and during this period I saw them about 8 or 9 times between '95 and '00 and they never disappointed. Bassist vocalist Eddie Spaghetti and co-lead guitarists Dan "Thunder" Bolton and Ron "Rontrose" Heathman, had the recipe for raucous rock n roll and spitfire live shows at their disposal. Album opener and title track, 'The Evil Powers Of Rock 'N' Roll' even fades out with a few seconds of Ozzy's 'Believer' riff, and that my friend in my book, is cool. 'Cool Manchu' is a stab at accessibility with a hummable vocal and catchy riff, but we all know having dueling lead guitar all up in your face leads it in another direction. When was the last time the shit flavor of the month pop crap had killer leads on it? Exactly. 'I Want The Drugs' is exactly what real punk is, save the melodic punk for the Target commercials. Featuring call and response gang chorus of "I want the drugs" "drugs, drugs, I want the drugs!" This song, while hardly poetic, amps up the guitar and makes it count. Love this song, pure punk genius featuring scorching lead guitar and humor, which is essential for a song like this. 'Santa Rita High', a mid tempo rocker with the trademark twin Gibson Les Paul gold top leads and 'Dead Meat' the boxing themed punker make way for the ultimate slacker love song, 'Stuff And Nonsense', a very believable story of a twenty-something relationship break up is refreshing in that it isn't sad, it just is, which you never realize until you're older and wiser. 'Dirt Roads, Dead Ends And Dust' is distorted, revved up blues. 'Fisticuffs' is a tale of drunken brawling and being in a band, I know, the layman has no idea what the hell is going on, there's music, a fight, someone is drunk, oh but it gets more complicated. I highly recommend this band and their catalog, but closing this album, billed as "13 new songs about liquor, women, drugs and killing", is in my opinion, the first Supersuckers epic. 'Hot Like The Sun', which I witnessed them do live at the lovely Club Deville in Austin, TX in 1999, is a 2 part, punk/rock n roll odyssey that proves they were miles above many of the wannabes of the '90's. [engl] Hailing from Tel Aviv, these 4 Israeli Power-Punk-Poppers are finally back with their sophomore album after the great debut in 2013. „Two Men“ comes with twelve marvelous Punk Rock / Power Pop hymns in the vein of Sonic Avenues, Steve Adamyk Band and Radioactivity so expect a lot of speed, melody and background choirs. The Sweatshop Boys really do excel in making you happy through a record – try to stay mad at the world/yourself/your boss while listening to this album…you won’t succeed. It’s like MDMA without the serotonin hangover.

[engl] From the ashes of Lost Sounds was born Sweet Knives. Originally this project was formed to gather the members of Lost Sounds that remained after Jay Reatard passed away, playing the songs from that band that were not Jay's songs. In place of Jay was Jon Grissom who played in a band named The Black and Whites (who both Jay released on Shattered as well and a few other labels worked with including FDH). After a while Sweet Knives began to write and record new songs and saw releases on both Big Neck and Red Lounge. We are excited that Sweet Knives have a new full length that we will be releasing along with Fdh Records (usa). This LP will be limited to 300 copies.

An attention economy of constant surveillance, mounts of data and the desire for perpetual war amongst everyone has meant there might not be anywhere else left to go at the point the absurdity of modern life becomes apparent. T.S. Warspite channel their message through a unique musical recipe that answers the question no one asked: What if Bad Religion grew up in Manchester in the 2000s? Made up of some long standing and productive members of the local scene, this sounds like friendship and experience, and some refreshing as fuck hardcore. Singer Marco Abbatiello weaves expertly through scenes of pulp reality where everything is fleeting and only some things stick. What's left is a farcical montage of things that have rushed past you with no real sense of direction. Personally and politically, it's all the same wretched soup of societal collapse and the rise of the technocracies. Do yourself a favour and play this through your Tesla microchip and light your Molotov.

[engl] “Fill De La Merda” is the debut of TÀRREGA 91’. Hailing from Tàrrega, a small town in Lleida, the band celebrates the antisocial riots that nearly burnt down the Town Hall in 1991 and ended with the arrest of 86 youths. Four tracks of radical punk that fill the void between Demo era HHH, MG15 Derecho a la Vida and ARROGANTA AGITATORER EP. The band regurgitate the sound of golden era Worldwide Hardcore Punk explosion, in the post DISCHARGE EPs days, but bring it up to date for the current depressing world. Angry, nasty anarchist tunes which could fit right in on Welcome to 1984, P.E.A.C.E. or any of the Attack Punk compilations.
