Heavy Metal Gefahr
[engl] Members of Pisse, Lötfett and other bands did record a homage on classic 80s Heavy Metal with an ironic undertone. Zebra-Spandextrousers, adidas “trophy” boots, mullets, jeans cut-offs, motorbikes and music from Accept, U.D.O. and Helloween on every village fair was the main present of the west-german young rural population. And this record re-celebrates this with you in every single note.- Format

Split
[engl] Sometimes making music is just a cheap excuse to spend some time with your friends. And so the three of us went touring last winter in South-Denmark or how you would call it: Germany. Whatsoever, here's a tour-split one year too late, but who gives a fuck. If you like danceable music but hate clubs, if you like punks doing non-punk and if you think it's a waste of time to read this, as much as I think it was a waste of time to write this, then maybe you should just give this record a try.- Format

Wake Me Up Again
[engl] Once again this consistency, this "step forward" attitude of that swiss Noise-Industrial-Postpunk-Wave-hybrid und what a huge step this release is this time. Impelling hard, off-kilter end of time-familiar, dark & brutal in core and really leaving nobody abandoning. The (preliminary and) through and through logical culmination of the previous releases in a 4-track 7inch, covered in an ebony 450g cardboard with a matte-silverfoil embossing.- Format

Deutsch Funk Revolte
[engl] It’s such a pleasant association for me that I was willing to allow ÖPNV a little ska-punk if they wanted, but this Berlin post-punk group clearly have no interest in any form of skanking. Theirs is a very sour and ostentatious form of robotic post-punk, delightfully free from guitars or any sort of traditional rock behavior. Rather, Deutsch Funk Revolte is equal parts disturbed and disturbing, minimal and unhinged, very much in the tradition of Nervous Gender, Kosmonautentraum, Palais Schaumburg and Cabaret Voltaire. Most songs are comprised of thuddy drumming, dubby bass, electronic bleeps/squelches and vocals acting as a disaffected tour guide to the proceedings. Pretty classic conceit, but it’s a style I personally relish, especially when performed with as much artful grit as ÖPNV display here. They’re willing to try interesting things with the form (unusual bass-lines, playful dub properties and so on) without feeling either too musical or polished. If they’re not already friends with Lavender Hex, a similarly (if further out-there) experimental dub-minded post-punk group from Berlin, they out to consider sending a congenial DM and making that connection. - Yellow Green Red- Format

[engl] Primitive bass/drum/keys proto-darkwave that sounds (and is) undeniably German. Everything here is cold; even the forceful tracks like “Trabantenstadt,” with its sharp, barked vocals, sound drunk and trepidatious. Throw a Cosey-caliber damaged trumpet into “Rasthof” to top off an excellent offering that demands more listens and deeper exploration. - MRR- Format
