[engl] The third chapter in the decade long existence of one of the most depraved Portland hardcore bands ever. If you know, you know, as LONG KNIFE has channeled and perfected the POISON IDEA sound, though if you pay attention to their catalog, you can see how they have evolved into their own beast over the years, making the PI comparisons trite. Every song on this record offers something different, whether it’s keyboards, horns (yep), what sounds to be operatic gang vocals, or just straight up hardcore bangers. This LP still maintains the intensity, insanity, and aggression these maniacs are known for, though there seems to be a bit more melody thrown in under the chaos this time. The riffs, solos, bass licks and Colin’s vocals/lyrics are just as awesome as ever. And of course, the lyrics are just as cynical, disturbing, and well written as we’ve come to expect. There is no slowing down for these guys and the Earth is ready to be curb stomped again and again with LONG KNIFE’s fucked up pummelling songs for these fucked up times. Each record comes in a deluxe package - thick jacket, printed inner sleeve and a huge poster plus stunning cover art by Alina Radetsky.

[engl] Well shit, PDX's 21st century Kings of Punk have graced us with yet another slab of the hardcore punk perfection that they've been crafting for quite some time now! The world we live in has changed considerably since 2017's "Sewers of Babylon" EP and that is reflected in these two songs that serve as a precursor to the band's forthcoming and long awaited full length. While keeping to the tried and true hardcore punk formula that has served as a sonic vessel for numerous trips around the circuit there are some far more rocking elements in the mix this go around which is just a taste of what is to come. Each record comes in a full color glue pocket sleeve featuring a rather arousing back cover.

[engl] Following a couple years of relative dormancy after a series of tours in support of a well received full length that spanned various continents, PDX punk heroes LONG KNIFE return with five tracks of sonic venom in the form of the "SEWERS OF BABYLON" EP. The recipe remains the same, the delivery just as biting, and the addition of Keith Testerman on drums (WARCRY, LEBENDEN TOTEN, HELLSHOCK, etc) adds even more to the already savage total package. [engl] Finally a European version of the long overdue LOS CRUDOS Discography collection. LOS CRUDOS, formed in Chicago's Pilsen neighbourhood in the early 90's, are a Latino punk band with a strong socio-political message and an extremely militant DIY attitude. During their first incarnation, spanning the years 1991 to 1998 the band self-released their own records, printed their own merch, booked their own shows and toured relentlessly around the world. From South America to Japan including a 3 month European tour in the winter of 1996. They spoke to the freaks the outsiders and the minorities and were not afraid of confronting the white middle class punk who reigned supreme during the terrible 90's. A time which will not be remembered for their hardcore output except for a few exceptions, in which CRUDOS are surely included. Their sound, far from being a copycat of whatever flavour of the month was reigning at the time was heavy rooted in the golden years of European and Latino American ferocious hardcore punk. With bands as IMPACT, WRETCHED, OLHO SECO, TERVEET KADET or MASACRE 68 as obvious influences in a time when the simple mention of any of those bands (or any non English speaking bands really) was usually met with a laugh or a joke. They sang in Spanish, with aggression and conviction and that made their message spread out widely, reaching thousands of Spanish speaking punks both in Latino America and Spain as well as inside USA where third generation Latino kids surely were missing a voice within the punk scene. The band split up in 1998 after a really intense year of touring and reformed in 2008.

[engl] Los Flixs began in 2017 in a cold-as-hell practice room. Soon they would have 11 fast and simple songs, attempting to recreate good old punk rock from Latin America. Fede, from Argentina, had played in the 90´s underground cult band from Buenos Aires Las Trolas,as well as later on in Berlin with Death Mariachis and Riots not Diets. Carolina had been playing and touring for a long time with the punk and hardcore bands Suicidas, Sotatila and Ruidosa Inmundicia and they both met through mutual friends. They soon decided to start this new project, Los Flixs, with Pablo from Chile on drums. They recorded this 8-track demo in the Arena Wien studio. Short and powerful songs with alternating vocals. Andre, the new drummer, joined in 2020.

[engl] Straight from Kansas City, Loss Prevention returns with their follow up seven inch, "SHOOT TO KILL", after a great surprise demo was released last year. Inspired by recent KC bands like BETA BOYS and NO CLASS as well as classic Hardcore Punk like AMDI PETERSON ARME and JESUS AND THE GOSPEL FUCKERS, Loss Prevention takes a breakneck approach to Hardcore Punk with three words: "SPEED, SPEED, SPEED" These four tracks are relentless, careening and moving like a runway train.

[engl] A swirling, nasty bad boy punk record by one of Britain's finest ensembles. Negative Ecstasy takes the listener (that would be you, duh) through an aural obstacle course of thuggish pounding and piercing feedback wash. Get dirty. Where would we all be without a couple fuzz pedals? Probably listening to Vivaldi or something refined. No thanks. "I want to bash my brains out, bleed all over your drugs and watch you smoke 'em up as I drift off to the inevitable. THE LOWEST FORM is it, bruv." -Martin Ken

[engl] "The second album from UK hardcore engine The Lowest Form, Personal Space sees the band cutting through a comedown fug of feedback, sharp butterflyknife guitars flashing deadly over a wasteground rubble of noise. Songs drawn up from discord, songs of marshalled cacophony, coils of scritching guitars break apart and reform, coalescing around insistent basslines and heavy drumbeats, before splintering again. It's hardcore constructed from textured noise as much as from breakdowns and riffs, rumbling infectious chants emerging from the wavering clamor, the vile keening of consciousness's half-known edges, noise in the grain of it all, noise as bedrock, an abrasive acid bath of fuzz, susurration and machinewhirr. "SMASH MY FUCKIN' HEAD AGAINST THE WALL" is the line that opens it up, rising out of Interplanetary Bad Boy's hissing swell. Driven through the album are anguished explorations of interior/exterior limits, whirling around viciously in the grubby borders of your skull, spinning hopelessly in the cosmic of the aether, untethered, higher than the sky but way down in the muck. From Gak Attack's claustrophobic pogo or Last Smash's drawling thump to Star Slammers manic tumble and Dread Future's rolling barrage, The Lowest Form have brought together another LP of murdered-out panicattack punk, lithe and unleashed, born of bad vibes and background radiation, an album at once uncomfortably close and fully heavy." -Joe Briggs

[engl] We stumbled on this demo floating around the internet and loved it so much we just had to make some copies and if we have any sway on you then we would love for you to hear LUZ DE GAS. They rule! Kerry Cardoza had this to say about the tape when it was first released back in January 2021: "It’s been almost a full year since I’ve had the pleasure of sweating it out in a grimy DIY venue, which might be why I warmed to this no-frills EP so quickly. The recording quality, hollow-sounding drums, and guitar feedback makes me feel like I’m in the room. You can easily imagine the band setting the tone for their set with the instrumental, warm-up-sounding opening track, which blends directly into “Los Machos Celebran.” Vocalist Muriel shrieks at the top of her voice, railing against those who don’t support the emancipation of women. And she doesn’t let up over the rest of the album, making a case for the symbolic destruction of man and calling bullshit on a cold and uncaring society."

Highly improved and better than ever before. They show how to build up songs you won´t forget. Intensity is all that needs to be said about this record.word.

[engl] MALADIA “Sacred Fires” 12”EP stands on an abyss made of the hiss and fog of a thousand generated cassette demos and the murky despair of damaged electronics and overloaded amplifiers. Equal doses of raw punk from the Southern Hemisphere and 80s European hc punk influences mingle with harrowing and desperate vocal cries, echoing RUDIMENTARY PENI and NERORGASMO as if both bands were hanging out in the back seat of a tour van listening to ANTISECT on a boombox. Recorded in a pre-fire Fuzzbrain studios in oppressive mid summer heat, this will tear your turntable up!

[engl] Pointed, chaotic and forceful hardcore from Mexico City. MALCRÍA underlines their odd brand of precise punk with dark urgency and pained screams without a drop of reference or a borrowed idea. Very fresh, very real. The pure scrap of this trio is infectious and exciting. And for what it's worth, "Nadie Es Especial" is gonna be the song of the summer for sure. Something about that opening bass riff and the overall foreboding vibe of that track that keeps me coming back for more more more. 500 copies of 150gr black vinyl with an elaborately etched B-side housed in a painstakingly collaged 24pt reverse board jacket with lyric insert and download card included.

[engl] Hyper-present, immediate hardcore bursting with the disenchantment and paranoia of living in a society that does not care about our survival. Liberty and comfort are lost fantasies, yet we continue in our obscene pursuits for them. This is the crux of modern life that “Fantasías Histéricas” addresses head on, exposing an era in decline, pointing the microscope at the cracks in the foundation. Maclría is an important tool in our advance toward a more meaningful life.
