    CLOWNS

    Lucid Again

    COLD FEET

    Punk Entity

[engl] John Waters once said, "The only thing I wanna be is a negative role model for a whole new generation of bored youth." Well, perhaps Baltimore's Cold Feet were the generation that picked up on those sage words, and have crafted their own trashy, hardcore punk anthems on "Punk Entity". Following a promising debut 7" EP and several cassette releases, we find Cold Feet at the height of their game with eight completely scorching tracks. Caught somewhere in the crosshairs of the early 80's USHC craze, like the odd New Englander cousin who caught as much X-Claim! as Mutha Records bands - Cold Feet harness the power of "Get It Away" era SSD, steal the reckless abandon of the first couple N.O.T.A. 7"s, and indulge the bohemian sense of humor that Adrenalin O.D. rocked. These guys are complete underdogs, the secretly smart idiots that allow their guitar player to be Jim Lahey for a Halloween gig and still completely blow the place apart. Cold Feet are here to show ya that they're one of the most true-to-form hardcore bands of contempo HC punk and hammer the point home with "Punk Entity".

    COLISION

    s/t

[engl] Colisión are a hardcore punk from Valencia, Spain blending the sounds of raw diy Columbian punk with the fizzy stomp you can find in Exit Order and on occasion, the groove of youth crew, the likes of Righteous Jams. This has it all, it has attitude, it's got the riffs and it's got real, genuine anger and passion in the vocals. This is their first e.p and what a way to enter! Till now they've only released the single La guardia alta earlier this year which you can find on this record. Here's what they have to say about themselves: Colisión is a LGBT band and we like to think of us as a band made by/for women and dissident sexualities or identities. With our songs we try to reflect our feelings and experiences as women and part of the LGBT community and the hostilities that we have to face on our daily lives. Hostility against hostility.

    CONSOLATION

    Repulsive Reflections

[engl] I tried listening to this at work but my bluetooth headphones weren’t connected and I blasted all the people in the office with the first 30 seconds of Repulsive Reflections - shrieking feedback which kicks straight into pummelling hardcore and Sean’s unhinged fighting-a-group-of-racists howl. People in the office started screaming - they had never heard such a hardcore punk belter in all their lives, and when the song broke out into a full on melodic mosher, some people even puked on their spreadsheets. The second song came in unrelentingly with one of T’s straight up killer drum fills. Discordant washed guitar shredding and fat bass lines made some people’s carpal tunnel wrist braces pop off in ecstasy. The ep doesn’t let up and towards the end of the 9 minutes, my co-workers were raging hard - two-stepping through the collaborative workspace and head-walking off the stand-up desks. Afterwards, we scheduled in a quick performance review meeting and all agreed that Consolation are bringing a fresh take on hardcore punk - offering up the intensity of Revelation style youth-crew with a heavy dose of Euro-style chain punk like Vidro and Axe Rash. Before signing off, we took a deep dive into the stats and figures where upon it was unanimously decided that the six songs on Repulsive Reflections were 100% CRUSHING HARDCORE ANTHEMS.

    CRAWL SPACE

    My God... What've I Done?

[engl] Ten short sharp blasts of ultra-frenetic, intense and to-the-point American hardcore punk in the vein of Negative FX, Agnostic Front, The Abused and Deathwish. They sure don’t waste time with any unessentials. What they have done is take a little more time with “My God…” since the previous tapes and 7” to expand on their sound and enrich the overall listening experience. A couple of these triumphant new epics are more than one minute in length so consider this their step up to Long Play maturity. Crawl Space has emerged from the basement and stepped into the daylight ready to stomp your ears out. This MLP is downright nasty.

    CREMATIONS

    Dissolution Of Balance

[engl] Cremations debut full length 'Dissolution Of Balance' is an intense escapade of metallic hardcore on a number of levels. Formed in 2016 and featuring members of Empty Vision, Downfall of Gaia and King Apathy, the Hanover based band have consolidated their efforts into a hard hitting and concise body of work. Their first EP 1417 which was released in the Winter of 2017 provided close to 15 vigorous minutes of aggressive and atmospheric charm. This was merely a taste of what was to come. Heavier and more intense than their previous offering, this album is already a standout release of 2020. Taking a consistent approach musically, lyrically and visually has led to a unified opus and another step up for this colossal group. From the outset you can tell that there is more on offer here than your standard hardcore record. It skilfully fuses punk sensibility with metal persuasion. The songs get straight to the point and are executed with the utmost fury. No intros or interludes, just 100% rage. Lyrically, a dark and misanthropic theme is established from the outset and built upon over the course of the album. The artwork is a clear visual representation of the lyrical content and these bleak sentiments are matched by the album title; describing an imbalance of a planet that is rapidly disintegrating. Appealing to fans of All Pigs Must Die, Rise And Fall, Trap Them and The Hope Conspiracy, this is a diverse release with potential to become a timeless classic due to the focused result and the ageless subject matter - the perennial destructive nature of society. Unfortunately it seems like there will never be a time when the exploitation of mankind and its environment will not be a relevant subject matter and this has clearly inspired and affected the band. David Deutsch/1408 Productions captured the sonic excellence at Waveland Studio in Hanover and mastering was performed by Alan Douches at West West Side in New York, USA (Baroness, Black Breath, Mastodon). The aforementioned album cover photo was taken by Maik Przyklenk and clearly communicates the subject matter at hand.

    CREVASSE / V0NT

    Split

    CRO(W)S

    Durty bunny

WHY CRO(W)S? Chris Wollard(Hot Water Music) and Bill Clower(radon),living together at the time, wanted to start a band. After an unsuccessful attempt to turn Rumbleseat into a rock-n-roll band, they formed The SHERYL CRO(W)MAGS in early 2000. Along the way they started a label, released 1 single and toured with Unitas up the East coast. Now with their debut full-length, and a slight name-change, they are ready to blow your heads off. Adding in the greatness of Kaleb Stewart(As Friends Rust) and James Ross(also of Radon) was a wise move to round out this ''buddy band'' quartet. That aside, it's impossible to ignore the presence of Chris Wollard of Hot Water Music. Bringing his trademark whisky, brutally heartfelt voice and the lyrical style so cherished by Hot Water's fans, Durty Bunny is strikingly similar to older Hot Water Music material, a sound greatly missed by some of their fans. But it isn't a Hot Water Music CD. Cro(w)s have their own sound, which is especially present on `There's Nothing Wrong,' and `#1 Hit.' Fans of the earlier, rawer sound of HWM will definitely appreciate this dark and powerful band. LP have 1unreleased bonussong.

    CYBERPLASM

    Autogenesis

[engl] These are questions CYBERPLASM asks of it’s listener on their newest release, “Autogenesis”. A record showcasing the techno/terrortronic backbone of the band in its full on pulsing etherial machine glory. Though still very much a punk band there are no guitars to be found on this recording. Rest assured there is, however, a heaping amount of discordant noise and dystopic political lyricism tripped out way beyond the psyche. A new realm of music is being created here, tucked somewhere in the void between 90s techno and the ultra fuzzed maniac punk of the 2050s, music so modern it’ll make your head spin right off your neck while your body writhes in complete underground rave ridden pleasures. As a bonus, the EP comes with two remixes of “Autogenesis” by the homies, HIDE and Silo 77. You need this like a sickie needs medicine. Get twisted.
