[engl] 2017, the year scores of bands playing “This Is England”-core and turning the scene into an increasingly unfunny joke ever since the last 86 Mentality tour turned their attention to Snix and Nabat, copping riffs (and fashion tips) from those classics that we’d managed to keep to ourselves for the last 35 years. And when did these rich snobby punks that turn their noses up at skins start swooning over French Oi? Did the No Fun Club lift the moratorium on short hair and cuffed jeans? Chicago’s Fuerza Bruta are upset luddites laying down riffs that don’t just pay homage to the glory days of Brazilian HC and Japanese Oi, they add to it. While you can now get bomber jackets at Urban Outfitters to wear in your Instagram photos, Chicago skins are still maniacs in an age when the integrity of the cult is being subverted by graduate students and 40 year-old freshcuts that just got into punk six months ago. But hey, no hard feelings, Fuerza Bruta don’t need to show off or be your friend because we already have each other.

[engl] Debut 12" of this new Boston Hardcore band, originally conceived as a one-man project by "Austin from Boston", who wrote and recorded almost everything, with the complementary help of some familiar faces in the scene pitching in on different duties. It contains 11 tracks of unapologetic mid-tempo HARDcore (with the H and the A and the R and the D in capital letters) full of crushing riffs, violent breakdowns and moshing power. Perfect soundtrack to stomp the streets, windmill fight city buses and stagedive from the rooftop of your local liquor shop. Featuring guest vocal appearances by Colin Of Arabia, Chubby Gang and Adam CMI.

[engl] Here we go again with a band from Lille, risen from the still burning ashes of TRAITRE, KRONSTADT is a new band from this really active punk scene. The ease option would be to compare them to their previous band but we won't. KRONSTADT offers some great punk-rock, heady and melancholic but also straightforward and catchy. A bunch of French punk bands from the 80's may come to mind while listening to this as well as more recent stuff but don't get wrong, KRONSTADT is nothing else but KRONSTADT. This 12" gathers anger, disobedience and urgency. KRONSTADT is also a band which succeeds at this hard task which writing french lyrics. This is a corelease with Une Vie Pour Rien, Senseless acts of Anger and Les Âmes d'Atala.

[engl] Finally the best titles recorded in addition to the 45T by one of the pioneer groups of the oi! French! Rare titles, unreleased tracks, different versions, before and after the legendary 45 rpm.

[engl] One of the things we love most here at Mendeku HQ is discovering new exciting bands and sharing them with the rest of the world, that’s why we’ve been releasing many demos, debut recordings or vinyl version of demos. The freshness, the urgency, the rawness of the bands on their early recordings always attracted us and here we have another fine example. Around 6 years ago i stumbled upon a Youtube video with the demo recordings of LOST LEGION, at a first glance they might have fooled one or two with the fake 1974 year reference, including myself, but only few minutes of research until i realized that it wasn’t any 40+ obscure recording of a forgotten band but a current project with some familiar faces in it. Well, time passes by, bla bla bla, and here we are in spring 2023 and we have now in production the vinyl version of those amazing 4 tracks, originally released on tape, of crude Bovver Rock’n’Roll/Proto OI! (if you will) with Punk practice room vibes, full of infectious tunes with crispy bass sound and sharp guitars.

[engl] Maraboots have been one of the main label's band and a reference for the new Paris oi! scene that have never been as strong as today. Their 3 first records were unavailable for a long time. They are now on this LP all together and remasterised.
