[engl] The titans meet again in the second collaboration between Toronto's Wolfagram, who is steadily becoming a household name in the production game working with the likes of Falcon Outlaw, God Is War, garbageface... and Luke Sick, the most known unknown and epically prolific rapper from deep West Bay CA. A real west meets east kind of beast that rolls up and smokes neat.

[engl] One of West Bay's finest underground rappers meets beats from Toronto's most promising new producer with a little help from the homies near, far and in-between. Yegg War is a little drugged, a little thugged and criminally smooth.

[engl] We stumbled on this demo floating around the internet and loved it so much we just had to make some copies and if we have any sway on you then we would love for you to hear LUZ DE GAS. They rule! Kerry Cardoza had this to say about the tape when it was first released back in January 2021: "It’s been almost a full year since I’ve had the pleasure of sweating it out in a grimy DIY venue, which might be why I warmed to this no-frills EP so quickly. The recording quality, hollow-sounding drums, and guitar feedback makes me feel like I’m in the room. You can easily imagine the band setting the tone for their set with the instrumental, warm-up-sounding opening track, which blends directly into “Los Machos Celebran.” Vocalist Muriel shrieks at the top of her voice, railing against those who don’t support the emancipation of women. [engl] Do you ever sit in your room and just stare at the wall repeating a mantra to yourself? Because it’s all you can do to not totally wreck everything in sight? We do that too and most of the music that’s playing sounds like this PAPRIKA record. This is their mantra: “Destroying Shit… Ruining Lives…” To be repeated over and over while digesting this deliberately paced rampaging hardcore punk record. “Let’s Kill Punk”, with it’s massive sounding production, is all outward facing hostility projected larger than life onto you sorry public inhabitants. Pure crazed thrashing punk that brings back the feelings of rough 90’s hardcore with a patchwork of personal and political rapid fire lyrics, manic drumming, distortion on everything and noisy samples between songs. Make no mistake this ain’t some paper thin ADAT recording though, “Free Your Mind!” is fucking pummeling. Like when the 00's came around and hardcore bands starting recording on tape again and everything got saturated back to how it’s supposed to be. Warm, crunchy and bombastic. This record rips your face off. [engl] The long awaited return of contemporary D-Beat champions, PHYSIQUE with “Again” - their first release since 2019. PHYSIQUE offers 15 tracks of steamrolling, discharge-fueled, crasher crust, seamlessly overlapping the time honored and ever-present D-Beat themes of war and government oppression with their own take on the brutalizing and soul-crushing realities of everyday modern life. With lyrics like: “Free yourself / Hope is the enemy, the enemy of change / Take your hope, smash it to pieces”, the overwhelming sense of life’s inevitable collapse and the dissolution of all the things we hold dear hits at the very core of modern existence. As you slog through the rut, a little more hope is lost each day. Life is empty and without purpose. One can't help but ask - “Again?” But D-Beat is protest music at heart, and “Again”s desperation is complimented by a surging pulse of relentless energy that reminds us that as brutal as life may be, we can't resist the fury of noisy protest that brings us back - again - to scream and shout the "never agains" of our predecessors and ourselves alike.

[engl]  Pig Heart Transplant is the alter ego of Jon Kortland, one half of the men that comprise the surgical Powerviolence duo Iron Lung. Like Iron Lung, Pig Heart Transplant delivers both a vicious beating and violent outcome, however the operating methodology is an entirely different animal; slow, churning, industrial, electronic, painfully percussive, a bureaucratic nightmare of State Power with gears grinding the individual into a hallow shell, perfectly molded into one of Them. This is 1984. For Mass Consumption is composed of 28 tracks, each approximately 44 seconds long, each song title a 4 letter word, structured in a perfectly palatable way for optimum group adoption and mindless adherence to common purpose. Electronic manipulation, no wave guitar noise, abrasive hammering and eerie synthetic ambience imbue the listener with the seedy malaise of manipulation on a societal scale. One might recognize the pulverizing brutality of early Swans on tracks like ‘Film’ or ‘Pigs’, the pulsing throb of Brighter Death Now and IRM on ‘Coma’ or even Robert McNaugton’s soundtrack work for Henry: Portrait Of Serial Killer on ‘1970’ or ‘1980’. Without doubt a horrifying work of aural terror, For Mass Consumption is the logical result of a culture bent on banal conformity and the futile struggle against its domination.
