[engl] Straitjacket with Freddie Wadling on bass and vocals was one of the first punk bands in Sweden. The first gig took place at a motorcycle club and at a gig shortly afterwards, the band was offered money by the organizer to leave the stage prematurely. The band split in the summer of 1978 and the members continued in bands such as Liket lever, The Leather Nun and Blue for Two. Straitjacket never had time to make an album, but after searching in the members' stashes we are proud to finally release the mythical Gothenburg punks on LP more than 40 years later. The album consists of a collection of demos and a live recording from the last concert at the legendary club Errol's in 1978. Protopunk in a true sense.

[engl] Producer/songwriter/artist Andreas Kleerup (Robyn, Neneh Cherry, Lykke Li, Teddybears Sthlm and others) team up with Andreas Unge, mean bass player/ producer having spent years in Africa working with Oumou Sangaré, Salif Keita, Cheikh Lô, Youssou N’Dour and others. The result is the electronica/ kraut manifestation Temple & Young. After a road trip through Europe in an old Volvo packed with an arsenal of old instruments and recording equip- ment Temple & Young settled in a cottage in a rural village in the French countryside and turned the second floor into a studio where the duo captured the beating heart of an endless summer. While not swimming under the stars the duo mapped out their collective consciousness with driving, mathe- matical grooves in a land somewhere between 70s Düsseldorf and 90s Manchester that oozes cheap drinks, club nights and love. [engl] Sweden's The Vertex were, along with The Moderns, one of the country's first mod-revival bands. Smalltown teens with big time dreams, they spat out mod/punk/pop stompers in the early 80's, before gradually digging themselves deeper into the psychedelic sounds of the 60's and then closing business in 1987. But their legacy and legend has grown ever since. With singles like "Tonight The Sky Will Be Ours" and "John", the band regularly appears on compilations and today their releases are highly sought after collectibles all around the globe. These heroes of the Swedish mod-revival scene stand tall with one foot in the punk energy and the other in Syd Barrett/ Kinks playfullness. [engl] Visious Visions single ”I Beat You” is a holy grail in punkrock collector circles, not just because of its’ limited run of only 109 copies but also because it is a MONSTER of a hit. Formed in Halmstad Vicious Visions soon moved to Berlin and honed their craft in squats in the shadow of the iron wall. They may come from the same little town as Roxette but they sound more Berlin than Halmstad. Where the single was musically defined by the fact that the band at that time didn’t have a drummer so they were forced to use a drum machine Retrodisrespective can broaden the perception of Vicious Visions as it includes both full band recordings as well as ones by the original core duo behind ”I Beat You”.
