Six tracks of smoldering D-Beat based hardcore punk which could arguably be the greatest recording session of their 10+ years as a band. Mastered by Kenko at Communichaos Media Clay Station in Sweden AKA exactly who you want to be twisting the knobs on a project like this. [engl] The second of two brand new singles that one of NYC's greatest will be gracing us with during this balmy winter and their first recorded output since the release of their highly praised "Evening Reception" full length, the Beach Impediment Label is honored to be an even minuscule component in releasing yet another slab for the almighty VANITY. With a track record of releases that spans the past 7 years, the style and approach of the group has (much to the dismay of some yet absolute delight of others) arguably seen it's fair share of metamorphosis over the course of this particular project's run. Yet amidst the sonic evolution exhibited by VANITY as their catalog has progressed, the expertise in conceiving an ever so catchy ditty still holds true as is evident with the A-Side "Rarely if Ever" - a track that is guaranteed to remain embedded in one's head for quite some time. "We're Friends" closes it all out on a triumphant and decidedly rocking note, bebe, leaving those who've been on this journey thus far yearning for what comes next. [engl] Scorched Earth marks the long awaited debut LP from the UK’s ultimate misfit squad, Vile Spirit. After well loved demo and promo tapes, Scorched Earth marks a major step up in terms of musical landscape and craft as members have sharpened their teeth touring Europe and being active members of the UK hardcore punk scene. Somehow they have managed to sew together influences such as United Mutation, Integrity and Black Metal into a noisy mass of hard as hell tunes with fuzzed out guitars burning your ear drums whilst being punched to death by relentlessly rolling drums excelling at unpredictable rhythmical directions. Meanwhile mid-tempo songs like Going Home march along, snarling in the darkness, creating an atmospheric backdrop for those who prefer to awaken at night. Vocalist Ben summons a cynical view of the world, conjuring tales of the survival of mankind and a contempt for the world. Bursting onto the UK hardcore punk scene three years ago the members have never ceased to play in and create numerous bands such as Saliva, and Chubby and the Gang. They originally formed part of the new generation of Brighton punks re-energising the scene there alongside bands like State Funeral, Never and label mates Imposter, whilst members finished high school or started University. Joining the band on second guitar is Rory O’Neill, singer of Imposter, and responsible for the artwork on Scorched Earth.

[engl] A deranged cacophony straight out of London, England. On their debut, self-titled release, VIOLIN blend elements of Swedish masters TOTALITÄR and HEADCLEANERS with the muscle and swagger of Boston 82 and the panicked power of NYHC in the mid 80s. The end result is a Mind numbingly fast and concise pure hardcore punk that is all together contemporary, edging in at times on the learned idiocy of Toronto’s S.H.I.T. VIOLIN is the brainchild of Lindsay Corstorphine (SAUNA YOUTH, MONOTONY, PRIMITIVE PARTS etc) who has written, mixed and recorded everything on this stellar release, with the exception of the drums, here carried out by the inimitable Jonah Falco of FUCKED UP fame. Pinning Falco’s drumming to Corstorphine’s vision has nailed a sound which is at once huge and perfectly audible, whilst remaining brutal and ugly in tone. There are moments of genuine innovation on display as is evident on the track ‘Empty Mind’ which begins with discordant noise, before building from a mid-paced swing into frantic lunacy, and then introducing a harrowing and unexpected synthesiser. The stark black and white artwork, carried out by Daniel David Freeman, provides a perfectly abstract and menacing back drop to this slab of primitive hardcore.

[engl] London’s singular maelstrom, Violin, has arrived at ILRHQ with four deadly soundblasts to loosen the grip on your perceived reality. Violin’s sole proprietor, Lindsay Corstophine, exposes and decimates a “cruel fantastic world” of willful ignorance, seething metropolitan dread, paranoid visions and fatal submissions. All this at mostly one two violence tempo in the perfect amount of hardcore time, spanning less than 6 minutes total.

[engl] VOIGHT KAMPFF are back with two new killer songs! These are the first recordings since their debut in 2012 and you can hear that for sure. 'Last House on the right' and 'Little Dyings' are a little bit more in the wake of Colin's last band SAFE- WORDS, which means more Post than Punk, more Computer than drums and more Wave than Garage. This 7" could have been a really great release in the 80's - now it's an even more awesome new little platter for the Generation Y or whatever the hell young folks are called these days.

[engl] NYC hardcore punks WARTHOG return with what could possibly be their best recorded output yet. It's been a couple years since their EP's on Katorga Works and Iron Lung Records were unleashed upon us all and in that time the members of the Hog have perfected their particular formula and have finally delivered four more tracks of pounding hardcore savagery that stands out ten fold from most of the bullshit that fans of the genre are bombarded with on a regular basis. Are you a functioning human in a functioning world? Each record comes in a glue pocket sleeve along with a two color risograph printed insert.

[engl] Chris Hansell walks into a bar in Manhattan and orders a scotch on the rocks. He rummages in his pockets and hands over a ten dollar bill. The bartender is looking him up and down out of the corner of his eye as he reaches for a dusty bottle of Cutty and kind of makes a snap judgement that he probably has no clue how much a drink costs in this place. Deciding to take advantage of ol' Han, the bartender returns with a drink and hands him ten cents in change. ""Funny seeing you here, we don't get many people who look like they sing for a band that sounds like 50,000 San Men on strike in July, all simultaneously listening to Mellaka, Sacrilege demos, lost takes of Mackie drumming on speed, Massacre 68, and just the faintest whiff of something St. Vitus might have written on their day off, in this joint"" Faster than you can get your passport stamped into the tone-zone, Hansell replies ""Yeah well at $9.90 for a glass of Cutty, I ain't comin back either!"""

Marking their ten year anniversary as a band, Larry and Co finally bring you their long awaited fifth EP. Written in Brooklyn last winter, the new ep delivered three tracks of their trademark sound. [engl] Wet The Rope is a hardcore band consisting of members of Pitchfork, Amber Inn, Sinker, Exhale and many others. It's members have been actively making music for almost 30 years. "The Sum of Our Scars" is their debut album, and while you can hear the influences of the members' previous bands, the anger of this LP may catch you by surprise. This album deals with the consequences of sexual abuse and predatory behavior. It is meant as both a personal and a political statement. 12 tracks of intense emotional pissed political hardcore!!!

[engl] Continuing in Olympia's tradition of haphazard mangling, WHITE WARDS have finally managed to record a proper LP and it is one mean motherfucker. It's a gritty, nasty Mecht Mensch doing push ups in the Jan's Rooms basement. US hardcore played the way it ought to be.
