    TOXIC WASTE

    Belfast

[engl] TOXIC WASTE represent the hardest end of the CRASS milieu. While most anarcho-punk bands of the time sang about a war they’d only seen on TV TOXIC WASTE were being politically active in Belfast during the troubles. They played militant punk with melody and aggression. Borderline hardcore at times with a clear peace-punk message. Angry, intense and in your face. They were involved in the Warzone Collective and shared stages, experiences and activism with bands such as STALAG 17, CONFLICT , ASYLUM and ANTISECT. “Belfast” was originally released in 1987 on Vocalist Roy Wallace’s Belfast Records and has been out of print for 30 years. It was a compilation of previously released tracks and newly recorded versions of old tracks with Dino and Gary from D.I.R.T doing the female vocal parts and guitars. The 12 tracks on “Belfast” are nuggets of raging pissed off DIY anarcho punk with hard hitting lyrics and dual vocals. The recordings are raw and passionate and stand the test of time. The band released an iconic split 12” with STALAG 17 on Mortarhate (1985) – the tracks are included on “Belfast” and then the following year a split LP called We will be Free with STALAG 17 and ASYLUM before calling it a day and becoming a lost piece of the anarcho punk puzzle. This reissue comes with replica sleeve and fold-out lyric insert.

    TRAINWRECK

I there is light it will find you

    TRAINWRECK

    old departures, new beginnings

So weit so gut. Ganz einfach: “Old departures, new beginnings” ist sozusagen ein musikalisches Burger-Menu.

    TRAMADOL

    Demo

[engl] This is a brick. Absolutely solid hardcore that while raw, doesn't make the mistake most raw hardcore does: this has riffs. Songs that jump at you with disciplined simplicity, and sometimes tilt into psychedelic loops. Production is massive, without scrubbing off the noisier peaks. This record doesn't fit comfortably in any particular "era" or region of hardcore, but things that came to mind were: "See Nothing..." Discharge and Framtid, with shades of Boston bands like Mind Eraser and Scapegoat.

    TWO WORDS

    Rejoining the Forces

[engl] The Italians of Two Words have come a long way. With roots in the hardcore scene of the early 90s, the band members have always remained true to themselves and their social and political principles. So it's almost natural that after a first 7", the band teamed up with Crucial Response Records to release their debut album. On "Rejoining The Forces", Two Words bang out twelve Youth Crew anthems with plenty of singalongs and mosh parts. There is also a reworked version of "Disillusion", a song by Think Twice, the old band of Two Words guitarist Freddy and drummer Gonzo, as well as a Chain of Strength cover. The LP is available in three colorways blue, red and white with an elaborately designed cover and a large lyric insert.

    ULTRA-VIOLENT

    Crime For Revenge

[engl] Originally released on Riot City Records in 1983 and quickly becoming one of the label's most highly sought after releases, Ultra-Violent recorded just one single before breaking up when vocalist Adie went on to front the Metal incarnation of the English Dogs. Three songs of blistering UK82, and quite possibly the best record in the genre. It's now finally back in print, with original copies regularly selling for £70+ online. An excruciating amount of thought and love has been poured into this release to make it the best reissue it could be. The accompanying insert also features reprints of original fanzine coverage, several previously unpublished photographs and also for the first time, a lyric sheet. Remastered at North London Bomb Factory by Daniel Husayn.

    UNIDAD IDEOLOGICAD

    s/t

[engl] Bogotá’s UNIDAD IDEOLÓGICA sound is pure high intensity hardcore. The eight songs on their debut 12” clock in below 15 minutes and not a single second is wasted. Their sound is very bass and drum driven, full of breakneck, pummelling relentless beats which do not rest for a second, setting a claustrophobic atmosphere for the noise to grow. Feedback ladden guitars at times verge on BM, which brings RAW POWER, EXECUTE, GISM and DISARM to mind, creating the perfect background for a raging vocalist full of venom to sing about fear, control, technology, and the rampant neoliberalism destroying their land and literally killing as we speak.

    UNIFIED ACTION

    Unified Action Demo

[engl] The debut release for the both the band and also the label, Scene Report Records. Unified Action are from the North East of England, consisting of ex members of Tied Down, and also, suprisingly, Australia’s Extortion. Straight ahead hardcore, a powerful variation on an timeless formula in which you can hear classic old school hardcore (I’m going to randomly pluck-out early Sick Of It All and Ripcord from the mental libary), but by way of late 80’s/early 90s Slap A Ham/Wardance (Infest/Citizens Arrest), and then filtered through a modern-day lense that is directly related to the member’s previous bands. Not so much reinventing the wheelie bin, more accurately they are bashing the fuck out of an old steel dustbin. And that, definitely, is a good thing. Especially when it is done like so…

    UNION OF SLEEP

    s/t

Atmosphärische bombastische Band mit u.a. Leuten von Doomtown, Burial und Ex-The Now Denial. Also eigentlich eher aus der HC/Punk Ecke.

UNION OF SLEEP / BLACK SLEEP OF KALI

    Split

    UNREST

    lake of misery

[engl] UNREST is just pure brutal force and annihilation constantly smacking your head against a wall. This LP is a ferocious blow to the kidneys: fast, dark and energetic. UNREST manages it to take the the raw power from scandi-crust bands like SKITSYSTEM, MARTYRDÖD or early WOLFPACK mixing it with the lethal force of grindcore acts like PHOBIA, NASUM or EXTREME NOISE TERROR but still keeping their own style in ways of songwriting and riffing. You even find short guitar solos mixed in the most brutal riffs you’ve probably heard in years. "lake of misery" has been produced at the Tonmeisterei and the production is flawless. The guitars just grind their way into your ears, the bass sound would also be good for a speaker test. So deep and thunderous. The drums are attacky as fuck and played with skill and haste. The voice finalizes the pure brutality. Guttural and straight from the throat that makes you feel like you still can taste the blood on your tongue. Vinyl comes with inside-out cover, black innersleeve, lyricsheet and includes a digital download card. If you always wondered how an atomic bomb dropped on your head feels, here you go.

    URIN

    Incydent

[engl] It's always great to release records of bands with members of other outstanding bands, especially when they sound fucking dope! Members of Rock (Karolina), Piss (Per), Cuntroaches (David) and Vexx/G.L.O.S.S. (Corey), got together in Berlin and started this band. This is raw lo-fi hardcore punk in the vein of SKITLICKERS - which seems to be plasphemic, but believe me, it is not! Most of the time I am bored when there are new bands trying to deliver hardcorepunk. So I have just a real ear for bands that take hardcore to some new, weird, and exciting places. And thats why ETT brings you this EP. straight out of the Berlin gutters. The new wave of raw Berlin hardcore is here and alongside fellow bands like LIFE FUCKER and PISS, URIN are holding a match to the firecracker set to explode under the asses of all the would-be artists, internet activists and party people currently scourging the German capital too. Short, fast, loud, brutal, heavy, obnoxious. Too punk for metal, too metal for punk. This is deadly serious raw punk, much better than most of the so called "raw punk" bands out there. It has that "broke into the studio in the middle of the night" sound quality. The vocals, drums and guitar tone - everything sounds like a lost 1982 recording out of Gothenburg. Four perfect tunes in the vein of Shitlickers and Anti Cimex! No compromises - just pure Swedish! Ultra! Mega! Raw! Hardcore! Punk!
