[engl] For the third straight year, Brazil’s Lasso offers the world a new EP just as spring arrives in the northern hemisphere and fall sets in south of the equator. Mirroring the unpredictable weather this time of year, Lasso’s music floats between raw explosions of manic energy and tense brooding, invoking the cycles of anxiety and depression that grip so many of us these days. Tracks like “Respice Finem” and “Raiva Derramada Na Estrada” sound like the uncontrollable surge of adrenalin that accompanies a panic attack, and while the mid-paced riffs in “Tecido Social” and “Nó” might open up the pit, it’s only to swallow us whole. Illustrator Carlos Casotti also provides his best cover artwork for the band yet, an eerie and uncanny visualization of Lasso’s enigmatic take on hardcore punk. [engl] LEBENDEN TOTEN is one of the greatest punk bands to ever exist and this 12min one song e.p. proves the they can still do no wrong. When we asked them if they wanted to "get weird" with a single they, albeit very slowly, jumped at the idea. We had no idea what we were in for. It blows the mind all the way open. How do they keep getting better? "Static" is a perfectly wild and superbly crafted sheet of chaotic noise with a pounding goth backbone all jacked up on Hawkwind freakout space jams. Just try and imagine what that sounds like. America's best band. Cut and paste artwork with heavy subconscious symbology laced in printed on heavy duty old world 12" single style top loading sleeves house a Chanel etched 12" single now on blue vinyl. There may be a couple migraines in there.

[engl] When Iron Lung Records hosted a weekend of shows to celebrate our 10 years of being a label we secretly recorded a bunch of the sets hoping to catch some magic. We knew LT would be a highlight (they always are) but we had no idea they would kill it this hard. Pure green lighting, swirling sirens and strobes set the room into a tense, disorienting spin. With the click of the stick a blanket of pure noise and pummeling beat came at us like a canon blast pushing the whole experience into a perfect frenzy. Seriously, there is not a single discernible mistake during the entire 25 minutes except one tiny moment where we could tell the guitar was out of tune - yeah we listened to it THAT closely, because their music deserves that kind of attention. 1000 copies on 150gr vinyl housed in a 24pt jacket with a custom die cut Halloween decoration and lyric insert included. [engl] Following up a demo as raging as Lexicon's was is a tough thing to do for most but holy shit Devoid Of Light powerstomps that thing to radioactive dust! KJ's deathly anger/despair ridden vocals are some of the most intense in modern history. The USHC infused noise-crust riffs fit perfectly into a tensely driven percussion grenade of anxious drums and bleary, life-questioning rage. Do we need to say "explosive"? Because that is exactly what the hell it is. Get fucked up, turn the fuzz to 11 and get as strong as humanly possible. [engl] LICH. from the UK contain members of our beloved BATTLE OF WOLF and if BOW359 are not ugly enough - this is their ugly mean baby. Lich. deliver four mean brutal dirty intense songs that just kill it. They have been one of the most intense live bands I have seen in a long time. Those songs are fuckin brutal. MAN HANDS are also from the UK. When I first heard them I thought they sent me a DEVOLA master. Those 7 songs of classical power violence are over before you even realized what was happening. Reminds me a lot of 90ies emo power violence like devola meets three studies for a crucifixion.

[engl]  Malicious and unfriendly musick recorded in a secret bedsit somewhere around the vital organs of England. A swirl of industrial noise amidst a barrage of Japanese and Swedish influenced speed beat hardcore. The wrest will be mystery. Ponder and fail. [engl] After releasing their debut album “6 0 1” on Southern Lord Recordings and it’s follow up ‘Swept In Black’ on Isolation Records in 2018, Lifesick are set to release ‘Misanthropy’ into the world. Whilst perfectly blending raw death metal sounds with a punk attitude and extreme rage, Lifesick manage to retain an outstanding texture to their music which goes to show that the Danes know exactly what they are doing. [engl] In 2016 LIFESICK released their debut LP '6.0.1' through the prestigious Southern Lord records, not just making their mark within the heavy music genre but smashing a dent that no one would soon forget. Now, having signed with Isolation Records, comes their follow up second album, 'Swept In Black'. If the first album made a dent then this one is making a crater. These 10 songs take you on a journey through pain, anguish and suffering. While keeping a steady element of cohesion and focus throughout the album, each song still stands out from the others by providing a new way for your ears to be assaulted. They have achieved this in a number of ways which is where their musical maturity really shines through - using different time signatures, arpeggio guitar lines mixed in with full power chords, varying tempos with seamless transitions... all of this culminating in a confident next step for the band. Each song makes sure you are kept on your toes and constantly on edge for what is to come next. Originally formed in Frederica, Denmark back in 2015, the 5 members pulled together their wealth of musical experience from previous bands to bring LIFESICK into existence.
